This disclaimer came up when I went to book a room at the Grand President via Voyage Now.Com.... Joiner Policy *** The Serviced Apartment will be charging an additional charge 350 baht should a resident bring along a guest to spend the night at the apartment. Please pay directly with the apartment *** For security seasons, the guest will be registered and receipt will be issued for the additional payment. I thought they were totally guest friendly.?????

Stay at Royal then. It appears that Grand's "policy" goes against the idea of renting a serviced apartment as opposed to hotel room for accommodation for x number of people. If its a money grab, as I said stay at Royal. I know that there was a note in the lifts of Royal in Nov/Dec about the Hotel concerns of unregistered guests.

Isee, You recommend staying at the Royal, but then you mention a note in the lifts about their concerns about unregistered guests. Are you saying they are slowly becoming Guest un-friendly also, as I wont be there till April..

Maco Had no problem with the Royal, but I was thinking that with Grand's statement of joiner fee (which I understood was girl friendly) that the hotel chain might have had some problems and trying to change policy. I don't really know, just speculating to some degree. I would stay at Royal and just expect there to be no problems. You could always stay in C wing and only have to deal with a security guard who is usually asleep if you come back late. Guess you won't know 100% until you or someone stays there in the meantime. The way to look at it is Grand has stated its policy (whether it implements it or not??) whereas Royal remains unspoken. I've never stayed at the Grand because the general consensus was that the Royal was the better hotel out of the two. Depending on your stay, just book one or two nights and if problems, you can move and if no problems just extend. Shouldn't be a problem either way at the time you intend to visit.

I just spent three months ( left two weeks ago ) at the Grand President - I had no problems with taking back girls at anytime of the day or night.

Just got back from Thailand and stayed at Grand President. Booked for two people and security never really checked. Very convenient to Qbar and Bed Club which was great every night. Loved the challenge of trying to pick up regular girls sometimes.

If I stay at the Court wing at the Royal President, does it make sense to pay for 2 people? I should I try to get away with just 1? Also, where do I book this online for a good price? Thanks!
