I be in BKK from 23 to 27 March, be glad to have some advise on hotels or motels. I am on a tight budget... say range of 400 to 750 per nite. Looking at GF hotels with hot showers, A/C and a queen size bed too. I guess its too much to ask if someone can recommend one with a bathtub. I am from SG and is asian... wionder if I be treated poorly of differently, I dun speak Thail. Thanks
PS. is it better to change THB in BKK of in my SG. local rate is abt 100 SGD to 23.65 THB

Well 400-800B wont get you very much anywhere near the action. If you move out to the ends of the BTS you might find some things decent.
You can walk up Soi 4 (Nana) and on some sub Sois there are under 1000B rooms. They are spartan but clean and cheap.
If you ever stay for a onth or more you can get monthly rates for a studio at 10-15KB/month which is 500B/day.

Hey Fcukster: On the high end of your request (800b) is attainable but not sure of the quality you will get. The Ruamachit, which IMHO is a sh*thole (but right above the Thermae) is 900b/night and most other dives of that quality is in the 1000b range.
RTB is right, you can get those rooms but it will push you further and further out, and you'll probably spend about 200b a day on transportation to/from your hotel. The New World Lodge Hotel (2 Samsen Rd., Banglamphu, Ban Pranthom, Pranakorn, Bangkok) is 800b/night but sort of out of the way (never stayed there or know anyone that has). I think Kao Sarn Rd also has rooms for rent for dirt cheap (250b) but as they say, "you get what you pay for".
Speaking of which...I hope you are scrimping on the hotels so you can spend it all on the girls, however, if you are scrimping on everything, it won't be much fun for you or the girls. No sense traveling thousands of miles to be a Cheap Charlie (at least to me anyway).

If you are really on a tight budget then I advise you to just skip BKK and go directly to Pattaya. Decent rooms can be had for 500 baht or less, the barfines are only 200 baht at the beerbars, and as BigDudeUSA says "the girls are good to go 500 ST/1,000 LT" When I'm Pattaya I usually stay at the Sawasdee Pattaya on Soi Diana, or Honey Inn on Soi Honey.
If you want a cheap room in BKK then try Thai House Inn on Suk. 7, next to the Beergarden. 600 baht for a small room with aircon but no refrigerator. You can save 500+ baht on each barfine and take a freelancer only 20 meters to your room!
