I've seen these hotels recommended and I like what little I can see from their web sites. Can anyone who's stayed at any of these places offer some feedback? Likes or dislikes? Thanks.

Stayed at Tamarind Villiage last November. Nice hotel in a quiet location. But there were families with small children playing in the courtyard early in the morning. So if you did a lot of "work" at night and need your morning sleep, it may not be what you want. But again it could be just my luck that there were families there. I would give it a 4-star in CM standard ( 3.5 star for international standard). I got a better rate thru my BKK travel agent than online direct from their website.

Thanks! Something to definitely keep in mind. I did notice that Tamarind Village's web site only offered the rack rate for their rooms, while any of the travel sites offered a much reduced rate.

Stayed at the Diamond Riverside once. Nice rooms, cool, good food, near the night market.
Had a friend stay at the Wiang Inn. Same comments.

We stay this January in Duangtawan.
I think this is the biggest hotel in Chiang Mai.
The rooms are ok. They have a big pool.
You must be patient when you wait for the elevator.
We pay 1800BTH walk in rate (high season) I think for this price we will look next time for an another hotel.
The location is great. The night market is just 100m away.
