I have stayed in this neighborhood for the past three summers. I am familiar with it and feel comfortable there. Easy enough to catch a train or taxi any place. I stayed at Admiral, Queens and Regency. Obviously, the Queens was the nicest, but expensive. I enjoy a quieter neighborhood, but accessible. I want to spend 30- 35 US $. In addition, I want suggestions about a new place to visit in Thailand. Been in BKK, Pattaya, Issan, Phuket, Pattaya, Chiang Mai. I appreciate your suggestions

Hey Jon Dunno much about soi 22 but can recommend swiss grottino just off soi 19 as a great base on the other side of asoke to soi 22. As for travelling around Thailand, it seems that you have stuck to mainland thailand, perhaps you should try the islands ? From Pattaya, I would suggest a few days on Koh Samet which is really good fun. If in Phuket, then visit Phi Phi cos you can help with the clear-up efforts and get a chance to see the island before mass tourism returns. But my fav' island is Koh Samui. It has something for everyone - great beaches, good nitelife, plenty of women, lots of travellers and a beautiful jungle with spectacular waterfalls !
