I am returning in June for around 10 days but I am looking for a bit of hotel advice. Over crimbo I stayed at the Present Solitaire (recommended on this site) which was excellent but was paying 4000 baht a night. After a trip to pattaya I became a bit of a cheapskate. Came back to Bangkok and stayed in Fortune Hotel oppostite Gullivers. Paid about 1200 baht per night. It was ok - not brill and can not really say way, but maybe because it seemed to be more orientated to the Japs. Anyway my question is both of these hotels are still quoting those prices. Now I never been in June so should I be dictating the price to them? I don't want to pay a lot this time so if anyone else has any other gf recommendations at Sukumvit area then I would be grateful for the advice. Cheers sonofsam2

Try the Swiss Park soi 11, all you need with pool GF from about 1100thb a night for a double. Or Stable lodge is ok soi 8. I personally think there is no need to pay high prices for hotel facilities you’re not going to use. As long as a place is clean and decent AC and hot water I’m happy. For some reason there are always better things to spend my money on in LOS.

Thanks for the reply. I am now looking at either the Swiss Park or the Manhatten hotel. Manhatten says there is building work going on behind and it could be noisy. Anyone any experience of this. Looking to book a double so which is best in your opinion guys. Cheers Sonofsam2

Booked into the Swiss Park now with Asiatravel - meemee. Booked a twin/double for two people and made specific request that I want king size or double bed - not twins. Well the pain of is, they said they are available on request when you arrive at hotel subject to availability. So what happens if I end up getting a twin. Ok pull them together, but what is june occupancy levels at hotels like in Bangkok. Would it be easy enough for me to leave and look for another hotel. I do have a phone number for this hotel to contact them but does anyone know of there email address? Cheers Sonofsam2

According to BangkokAtoZ (bangkokatoz.com), Asia Bugle (www.asiabugle.com) and the hotel's very own web page (www.swissparkhotelbangkok.com) the e-mail address for Swiss Park Hotel is swisshot@asiaaccess.net.th Of course, they could all be out of date! Cheers

If possible, stay at Manhattan Hotel. Its less than 1,100 through Passionasia, has the basic facilities, and includes buffet breakfast. I got a room the same day when they were busy. I got a room with one large bed. I have never stayed at Swiss Park, but you can request a room with one bed with Passionasia and Manhattan should have it, especially in June. If you want a free shirt or other stuff, they will provide it. I also stayed at Honey Hotel and now realize I should have done Manhattan instead. Have fun.
