I am considering the Holiday Mansion hotel on Wireless road just north of Ploenchit. The location is great for me. I am wondering if someone has information about their policy for guests.

I have answered my own question. I emailed a web site representing this hotel and was told that 800 baht is the joiner fee here.

the Holiday Mansion Hotel is a great place, guest friendly but I have heard that it is now under construction. the location is good. It is not directly in the action, but is at the Ploenchit station H

Depends what you think is a guest.... most hotels are guest friendly. If not, nobody would stay there (again). Guest of Guest Friendly is another case....

Got to agree this needs further clarification. Guest friendly,, allow guests of guests in free Guest unfriendly,, allow guests of guests in for payment. On BKTF stating Guest friendly has always meant Guest of Guest allowed in with nil payment. There really needs to be a second classification, as I have read of hotels allowing a Guest to have a single Guest but not a second Guest without payment,,, I guess they should be called SOLO Guest guest friendly and tjose that allow more than one Guest guest should be called Multiple guest friendly. Now "who" was on first? Mel.

Mel, At the moment there are 3 types of hotels in Thailand. 1. Guest Friendly, allows changing of a guest everyday/night without charge, if you book a twin/double. 2. Those who allow a guest to check in with you and stay the entire duration of your stay. You cannot change the guest to another, or you will need to pay a joiner each time you change the guest. 3. Those hotels which make up about 5%, which need the name of your guest at resevation and they must be present at check in. Thus no joiner will be charged and you cannot change the guest during your stay. Hope this helps.

sorry it this sounds confusing. I was told from an agent at ThaiHoteldiscounts that they had a joiner fee. But my actual experience was that it was guest friendly. However, I am now told that the hotel is remodeling or perhaps have razed the whole building and are expanding. I will verify this in a few weeks.
