I heard that some hotel charge extra fee for bringing a girl upto your room,so I book Grand Hotel cloase to Poseidon with double.Do I need to do anything else to avoid the extra fee charge?Please advise.Thanks

The Grand Hotel is on the other side of the street from Poseidon. With the advent of the Subway system, you could cross under Rachadapisek Rd by going through the nearby Subway station, but you cannot cross Rachadapisek on foot within close distance of the Grand Hotel.
However, since the Subway has a stop near Poseidon, there is no reason to stay close to the Poseidon anyway, so long as you are clsoe to the Subway or BTS line.

I stayed there in December and January. I never had a problem bringing girlfriends in even late at night. I booked a single at 1300 baht per night. Once they did ask what room I was staying in and that was it. There are two entrances, one at the main entrance and then at the floor beneath it.
My buddy is staying there right now for 600 baht per night. He said he was able to get this rate because they are around 60% booked and he's been a regular. He threated to check into a serviced apartment for the same rate so they matched it.

Gladly. The hotel is great. It has a very nice entrance with really high ceilings. It's impressed every girl I've brought back. The lobby floor has a nice bar area with a great lounge. I got a room on the 28th floor this year and it was very nice.
The bathroom had a granite sink area with a separate bath and glass shower. There was a phone in the bathroom and the toilet is flushed via a big button on the wall. Very clean and nice.
The room had a king sized bed and satellite TV. There were probably 20 channels, BBC, a music channel and some others. There was a table with fruit on it the first day I arrived. A small fridge and coded safe were all part of the TV armoire. The lights in the room were controlled by a central control unit on one of the night stands. I have pictures of the bathroom here.
Beneath the lobby is yet another lobby. It has plenty of seating for visitors, a business center, a restaurant, and drycleaning. Breakfast is pretty good with American, Chinese and Thai food. Toaster and an omlete station.
I didn't have a chance to check out the pool or the gym. The hotel was high enough for me to feel the big quake on Dec 26th. The one thing I didn't like was that after I extended my stay for another 2 weeks, they raised my rate to 1500 baht without telling me. Another friend told me the rooms can be hit or miss. I cannot complain about my room, it was quite nice and had a great view of Ratchadaphisek at night.

I have also stayed in Grand Hotels at least 2 times. Yes, the previous brother's description is accurate.
I have not used the gym but I have used the pool. The pool area is quiet and the pool isnot small except it is not deep enough for anyone to dive in.
But I have two items to criticise.
Although there are manu TV channels inside the room, there is no serious sport channel. And the internal softcore porn channel never works.
Secondly, it has the worst breakfast in all hotels I have ever stayed.
By the way, to answer the original question, I believe the hotel is guest friendly. I have not tried it myself. But I have seen room occupants bringing girls into their rooms without any obstruction
