I really can't afford to go to LOS right now, but I'm going anyway. if I don't I will regret it for the rest of my life, and after all, money isn't everything is it? You can't exactly take it with you when you die!
I'll be staying in Bangkok for a Week and a Half for the Asia Cup Football, and then my girlfriend is flying out to meet me for a Week too. I want to show her what a beautiful and magical place LOS is, because it's her first trip and I would love to move there One day in the future. That means that every Baht I can save in my first Week matters. Every single Baht!
I guess that means I will be on the KSR. What is the cheapest place you know of, or what is the cheapest guide price for a room? I'd like a bed, shower, fan and toilet, but if I have to share a bathroom I'm not too bothered.
I hope to marry her in Thailand (Koh Samui?) One Day so this really is important to me.

The truth is I don't think anyone on here will know the answer to your question....
There are hundreds of Guest Houses around the area of Banglampoo, Dorm rooms probably start at around 100-150B, though the best reference would be the Lonely Planet Guides, but even the Guest Houses have been improved over the years and the 15B grot holes of years ago I suspect don't even exist any more.

Try the Thai House in soi 7 next to beergarden.
The entrance is in the narrow sidesoi, which connects sois 7 and 5.
You pay a little bit more for that but You win it back in transport costs, you need to use taxi very little due the BST station next to soi 7.
It's not a shithole but a cheap and usable.

I suggest you look in Hotel issues, Accomodation. I stayed at A W Business Inn, soi 11/1 Sukhumvit. Room with air con, toilet,shower,old but clean, with a window for 700b. A room with the above without window 600b/n.
Close to BTS, underground rail, shops and good security. Also not far from major bus terminal at Ekamati or similar name.

I stayed at rambuttri village Inn last time for 360 per night and it was clean, safe and very nice to be honest. I met a lad there staying next to the Silk Bar for 200 per night. I'll probably try to find somewhere along the lines of that, and then when my girl shows up Ten days later move to somewhere really nice or fly down to koh Samui depending on the Weather.

If you are looking to save money, why fly to KS. Why not catch the train from BKK. It is about 5-600b each with a overnight sleeper. Planes fares are thousands.

My mate stayed in BKK for a shoe string for 2 months. He is an out of work actor. This guy can really live down.
He found a few places near cosan road for 100bt a night. Thai mainly places you get a fan a matress and a shared toilet on that floor. In your room you have a sink with runing water.
He said there are places for less but could not stand the smell and the roaches where just too damb big.
If you really are on a shoe string I suggest start looking there.
