Hi Minder,
I always paid for a double at Jade Pavillion - I think around 1400 to 1600 baht - never asked me for a joiner fee, & it was clear there was different TG with me each time.
What was your experience with the 500 joiner fee - when was that? could be something new.
I expect the new place might be a little dearer, but would not expect a joiner fee when paying a double.

That info dates back to August of 2001 - though I'd read since it was still guest unfriendly. I was probably booked in as a single as I am pretty sure it was 1000 baht via a hotel booking service and included breakfast.
The girl was from Dollhouse in Clinton Plaza so the date is firm and ummm..an impulse purchase shall we say. I knew the joiner fee was 500 I'd heard someone else getting the news when I checked in. In those days the front desk would send you a woman (who you picked from a folder they kept at the front counter) for a 500 baht fee so the joiner was just to deter BYO.
Personally not attracted to this location. Feels too far from Nana and Cowboy and on the wrong side of Sukhumvit. I've stayed in Soi 22 at the Imperial Queens Park and Regency Park hotels since - but not in P4P mode. Enjoy.

When I'm cashed up I stay at Imperial Queens Park, or when I can swing a corporate deal through friends.
FYI have found this to be girl 'indifferent', ie at my worst have been the ugly tourist stumbling in at 2am with a friend & four TBG's & some bottles of my own vino.
Not even a peep from staff.
FWIW, this was my experience with this hotel is from may 2003 to May 2005.

If you want to stay on Suk Soi 22, you may want to check out the Admiral Suites.

A little pricey, but you could try to bargain.
24 hour security, girl friendly, and a good cafe downstairs.

I asssume Admiral Suites is girl friendly?
They don't have a suite witha good sized spa, do they?
On a related issue:
I've been fantasising about a tub with two maybe 2-3 special guests, but haven't heard of any hotel or suites with spa facilities.
I've heard of some places down in Phuket & Pattaya that had rooms with lounges, pools tables, podiums & mirrorballs, mirrored ceilings & big japanese pool/baths (my favourite). While these packages seem a little 'tacky', could any of the brothers share information or experiences with places with special facilities in BKK, preferably Sukhumvit (tacky or otherwise).
I'm getting a little bored with standard 'vanilla' accommodation.
