I live upcountry and come thru Bangkok often. I'm still on the hunt for a decent hotel under 1000 Baht. I'm not on holiday so no need for the swimming pool, gym, & other tourist amenities, just a clean toilet, good A/C, cable TV, a BIG bed, access to Skytrain or Subway. Speaking Thai is not a problem
Anyone ever stayed at SAWADEE SUKHUMVIT INN on Soi 57?
Any other suggestions? I don't particularly care for the Saphan Kway area

Not stayed there myself but a friend with Thai Wife recommended it as a good cheep alternative to staying in lower Sukhumvit. He reckoned it was clean and well maintained with all you need; it’s very close to the Sky train and runs about 700thb a night. If it’s any reassurance his other recommendations have always been spot on, web site here;

A TG I lost contacts with (but meaned quite a lot ) always brings her german BF there,and reccomended the place as well,the price is 700 but there's nothin I know more of.so im interested on any feedback too.
I've asked my current girl to check it out,but still waitin for the report...otherwise she she went to another one in Phra Rama 9,and said the room was small but near the subway,still 700 THB,cant recall the name,gotta ask
I'll propably give soi 57 and the surroundings a try on my next trip,for a change of pace and see how it's like.

why you don't try now nasa vegas formelly future hotel.
nice big room cable, clean and friendly, 600 baht.
worth a look but not near to sky train, you can't have it all.

A Thai gal that I know also recommend that I stay at the Sawadee Sukhumvit Inn at Suk Soi 57 (Thong Lo) if I am looking for a cheap budget hotel near a BTS STation..... it is about 15 minutes' walk to the Thong LO BTS STation

If booked through the internet, the room rates at Sawadee Sukhumvit Inn range from 850 bahts for a standard double room to 1,100 bahts for a deluxe twin/double room. The rate for a Juniour Suite Double is
