Hello my brothers, I can't wait until Aug 24 because I will be in the land of heaven. Anyway, I couldn't get room at the Majestic Suites. I was wondering does anyone have suggestion for me? I like to stay in that area of Soi because I need to take care some business at the Japense embassy. I heard Swiss Park hotel was pretty good? If anyone is going to in bangkok from 24th of Aug. to 1st of Sep. Please let me know maybe we could hit the scene together, thanks so much.

Yeah, the Swiss Park is an OK hotel - make sure you book double if you are looking to take company back with you otherwise they will hit you for a joiner fee as all "guests" have to register at reception. Try Grand Business Inn - if they still have their "soft" rate, at 1200 baht its a good deal. IMHO I think the rooms are better there then at the Swiss. Only problem is no in room safe if you are after that. They have the security boxes downstairs - but they keep both keys. Also you suppose to register girl here as well (but no joiner). You'll no doubt be the talking point for the girls in reception if you are bringing a different girl (or two) back each night. I feel that they take a little too much interest in the coming and going's of the guests. I'm sure a few of them are after some rich farang husbands as I've noticed an attitude change after they see you with another girl p4p or other. Besides the above, its my current preferred hotel to stay at with the current rate. Another good thing is that its about 15 second walk to Suk and on Soi 11. Cheers

Stayed at both the Swiss Park and the Grand Business Inn during my trip last May; Swiss Park, has pool and in room safes no problem bringing girls (x2 one night) back, rooms could do with redecoration but clean and tidy overall. Had a problem with them trying to palm me off with a twin rather than a double but was sorted in the end. GBI, Nice new clean rooms, friendly staff good rates on the promotion, down side no pool or in room safe they also ask for deposit and don’t like you running up a bill (fridge but no mini bar) in room kettle but good coffee from room service for 50thb a pot. Good shower over bathtub nice location. I had stayed the Swiss Park on two trips previously but have booked the GBI for my October trip as I still got the promo rate If the rate goes up I don’t think they will be such a good bargain as for 1500thb for room I expect in room safe at least.

Popular with Japanese as there are local Nippon-oriented clubs in the locale. I've stayed there several times, most recently March 2005. The plumbing is quirky in some rooms - techniques required for operating WC and shower! - and furniture well creaky or, worse, collapsed. If a non-smoker, ensure you're accommodated on a no smoking floor otherwise soft furnishings, fabrics and bed linen can reek. On the plus side, rooms are bright with picture windows; they're not dark brown or pokey. The room safe is useful and convenient. Breakfast goes on till 10.30am. Good idea to book a double (even if it turns out to be a twin) to avoid joiner fees or delays at the desk, also you get breakfast vouchers for 2. Room rates increased this year and value is not quite as good as in previous times. Excellent location as said by others. Friendly staff too. Stayed there about 3 weeks ago with my TGfriend. Booked a double room and was pleased with room. However my view was off building site next door where it seemed hotel was going. Like previous post, one thing that annoys me is a non working shower. In fact I am quite placid but my blood boils when the shower does not work. Anyway there was a technique to it and it did work but blood was almost at boiling point. Shower rating through was only a 5/10. Seen better seen worse. Even through I booked a double for me and my TG on one occassion on returneing she was asked for id by a snotty receptionist. OK genuine mistake as my TG looked like she came off the street but what pis$ed me of what there was not even an apology from receptionish when my TG had a go back. Check computer is a 1 second job when collecting key - "enter room number - ok a double, said girl must be TG but its none of my business as a double is booked." Swimming pool was dangerous by western standards. Very deep and then a virtual vertical slope to shallow with just maybe 2 foot of shallow water. Step on slope ye non swimmer TG. Also 5 strokes and you had done a length. Not good for swimming but good if you want to practice your turns Breakfast was good but finished at 10.30. Come on what western person visiting LOS is awake then. Mind you it opens at 6 so there is a chance of breakfast when getting in. After a bedroom disaster involving a glass bottle and a hard floor I was at breakie for 10.15 but most of stuff was being put away. However when you make breakfast in time food is excellent, lots of choice and perfect if you like eggs. You will see what I mean if you stay. OK sounds very negative but actually place was pretty good if you want a cheap but clean fair size room just out of the way. I would and have booked again for Dec for a few days but if I was staying in Bangkok longer I probably would have tried somewhere different. Sonofsam2
