Hi planning my first visit to pattaya for 2 weeks in end of august, have heard people mention flipper in pattaya as a good place to stay in, but there are 2 of them, the hotel and the lodge, which one is better? or are there any better alternatives within the same price range? will be staying at manhattan in bkk for 5 days, hope the noise won't bother me too much

We usually stay at the Sandy Spring on Soi 13. about halfway between Soi 7/8 bars and walking street. it's a little more than the least expensive places, but still very resonable. We were almost looking for something different this trip in Early Sept just for a change. No ideas yet. Not sure about the Flipper's locations - I think one is on Soi 8. I'll bet there are quite a few threads about the place - try a search.

Both Flippers are good choices and are close to one another about a 3 minute walk. Check out Pig & Whistle, Queen Victoria Inn. Less expensive at 450 per night is http://www.skytoppattaya.com Good clean hotel on the cheap end. In room safe, AC,TV and fridge. Good location on 2nd Road near soi 6.
