I'll be in bkk 10-20-28. Thinking of Landmark, but confused--did a forum search and looked at many web sites, but still confused.
So, there's junior suite/executive suite
Anyone stay in both? Differences? Worth extra money than deluxe room?
Then, there's club and lifestyle floors.
If you get a deluxe room on the regular floor, do you get the lounge and any extra stuff?
If you get a junior or executive suite on the regular floor, do you get the lounge and any extra stuff?
I'm wondering about a junior suite on the regular floor.

It depends on what floor you are in not the room, is my understanding. I stayed on the floor that entitled you to free cocktails in the early evening, but I never actually went. From what I hear, I should have as its suppose to be quite nice. I went to the "business centre" for a short while, but considered it overpriced as the charges weren't inclusive. I can't remember what room I was in, but it had a separate bedroom, with a dining area and lounge area with a table off to the side for work purposes.
Not sure if it would be worth the extra money - depends on whether you are an "out and about" person or "hang around" the hotel one. You could always book the lower floor and see if you are lucky that they have overbooked and upgrade you.
I actually prefer the Landmark to JW, but others would disagree. If you are after the "extra's" pick the lower room type with the higher floor.

I stayed on floor 25 once at 12,000 baht a night.
(i didnt have to pay)
The girls will do ""anything possible "" to impress you.
Its a great suite.
But the deluxe rooms are ok (those I do pay for)
But I paid in OZ at $412 for 4 nights.
These days I settle on Nanna......
Note a girl tried to get a Thai boyfriend up at nanna to Rob/bash me.
The security rang said the taxi man said you left siomething behind (i had come from airport chang Mai flight) The girl Knew.
I hadnt ofcourse so got the staff to hold the guy.
IT was 3am
He wasnt a Taxi driver, and had a Knife on Him.
Police were called.
The Girl NOI wasnt paid.
Warning, in Landmark "which is too guest friendly""
he would have made it up.
Lesson......make sure girl leaves ID and security is at elevator.

There have been blackrobed wives posts about the JWM and Majestic Suites/Grande -- I have not seen one about the Landmark before. The rest of you, say it ain't true--is scobie trying to distract me from the real thing, or ???

I don't know, Scobie is the man on the ground. Last time I was there was last year - none then, but times change. The increase of Arabs on Suk is an increasing occurrence it would seem from what others say and my subsequent trips. I normally don't bother looking at them, so if they do have angry-faces or scrowly wives.....wasted on me. Even if I did notice one giving me a bit of a look....I have this "Who the f*** cares what you think" attitude.....Of course, if I was ever provoked into a conversation with one....the topic of there being a lack of camels in Bangkok would surely come up 
Just try it, nothing like first hand experience.

I'm exaggerating about Landmark but there has been a huge surge in arab tourists (usually families, not mongers) in lower Sukhumvit over the last 3-4 months and I've seen a fair number of them hanging around Landmark Hotel... I can't say way. If I was a bigot (*ahem*) I'd say they probably avoid Marriott, Westin and Grande Sheraton on anti-western grounds.
I'm assuming TAT has made a big push on promoting BKK in the middle east.. it's kinda weird seeing these guys wandering past the porn dvd stalls on lower sukhumvit followed a few paces behind by a black robed woman, complete with metal mouth guard.
Culturally sensitivity, my arse.

the a-rabs hang out on the other side of sukhumvit, by and large. only a rare one stays at landmark. so you're fine there.
overall, landmark is excellent, but way overpriced. the gym is especially nice, particularly the women there! food and beers good too. best of all, right next to nana bts and NEP...but everyone knows that. oh, there's raja f***ing wonskies...it's there. a complete waste of money imho.
