Hi again!
AS I said in a former posting I will probably be able to come to BKK in late august for about one week hopefully a little longer. I was thinking about staying at the Nana, but as it is the "boom boom" hotel number one in BKK as I understand from one of the relies I was wondering which hotel I should stay at:
My demands are theese:
1 A definately girlfriendly hotel!!
2 Prices of about 1000 - 1800 THB per night including taxes and service
3 I would definately prefer a hotel which gives you a personal safebox in your hotelroom
4 Sukhumvit area!!
If anyone has any recommendations please answer they are greatly appreciated!

Check out the links section, Pattaya for FLB bar. They have hotel reviews for BKK, Pattaya etc. They are written by guys like us or me as I've written a few. Majestic Hotel (spelling) is around the corner from Nana. Nana Hotel is a decent hotel. I don't worry about BG thoughts about where we boom boom. Less then 24 hours till I leave for my favorite adult playground.

I have recently stayed at Manhattan hotel, soi 15, and Tai-pan hotel, soi23. Both off Sukhumvit road and meet your needs on price, guest friendly, and room safe. OK ??

Thanks for the info about The Manhattan and the Tai Pan hotels. How is the cleanliness in theese two hotels? Joiner fees?
Again thanks I'll be looking in to theese hotels further.. Any more hoteloptions are welcomed, the more you know the better decisions you can make...

Both hotels are clean. Tai pan a little better on room quality. No joiner fees at either hotel. At the prices they charge they are OK

When you stayed at the Majestic Suites what type of room did you have? I see on their website that they have Single studio, single superior and double superior. I think that I will just to be on the safe side (staff letting my girls in) and to have a comfortable room I will take a double superior for 1500 THB per night. Are theese good? Since this hotel is very close to NANA will the music from NANA be a problem, I mean if after a long flight IŽd like to sleep then I do not want too loud music howling into the room...

Music from the Nana never posed a problem for me and I am a light sleeper. But the noise from the Skytrain and traffic can get bad, so go for the backside. I'd go for a single room, they never gave me any problem with anyone coming up to my room, I even brought back five for a party once (drinking, not sex, I'm not that insatiable  ). Only difference is you get one vs two breakfast coupons. Also, e-mail them and ask for a discount, can't hurt to ask.
As a general note, anytime you stay in BKK, except for very high season (Dec & Jan) you should always be able to move your hotel if you find you don't fancy the place you've booked. Unless you prepay, then you're pretty much stuck with what you've got.

Just a word about the Ambassador near Clinton Plaza. I booked on the net from a link on this site thru Asian trails. You get to live chat for your reservations. The rate was $33 for a Tower room including all taxes and a good buffet breakfast.
The rooms are large and the staff has been very friendly. Brought in a girl and security guard next to the elevator only asked me if I had a double. She has been back twice on her own and the same security guard calls me first and escorts her to my room.
I didn't think about it the first time but gave him 200 bt $5 at todays rate. I got a big smile and what I thought was a very sincere thank you.
The following night I came in he rushed to call the elevator and made no indication that he wanted another tip, although Iam sure he did and I will tip him again because of the courtesy and lack of pressure.
Overall rating for the Ambassador is extreemly user friendly.

I am still recommending the Federal Hotel on Soi 11. Close to everything, about 960 baht, cold air, pool, good staff and no hassels. Rooms are smaller but clean and quite adequate.
