Wondered if any of the fellow brothers had been to this hotel before. I am looking at the Honeymoon package which gets you 3D2N for 2 people (surprise !) AND
Welcome drink, fruit & flower.
2 nights up grade to Deluxe Room accommodation.
Guarantee double bed.
First breakfast serve in the room and flower decorate on the bed.
1 hour Thai Massage (For 1 time)
Thai Set lunch (For 1 meal)
Honeymoon couple 1 set candle - light seafood dinner.
Honeymoon couple 1 set international - food dinner.
Complimentary sight seeing Ban-Pae Fisherman Village and Local Fresh Fish Market (1 trip/day)
Late check out 04.00 p.m. (subject to room available)
All for 7,500 per package, not person and includes tax.
This sounds really cheap, or is it a genuine bargain.
Anyone ever been here or heard anything about it ?
Help appreciated.

since I've lived in Rayong Province most of the past 10 years, and we are talking 360+ days/year on average, LOL...

here's my opinion :

Welcome drink, fruit & flower

buy your own drink 100b, fruit 100, flower 20

2 nights up grade to Deluxe Room accommodation.

Rayong Resort has some fine rooms, I think between 3-4k/night

Guarantee double bed

my TGF and I made a double bed in Star Hotel in Rayong out of two twin beds, and paid a lot less for the room, or,,, my company did, LOL

we also did the same in Phuket Marriott

First breakfast serve in the room and flower decorate on the bed

IMHO, that is YOUR job, not the hotel staff, although they could run out to the market and buy the ingredients for you

1 hour Thai Massage (For 1 time)

3-400b

Thai Set lunch (For 1 meal)

outside the hotel, 50b each, in the hotel 200b each

Honeymoon couple 1 set candle - light seafood dinner

800b value, and that is if you pig out

Honeymoon couple 1 set international - food dinner

ditto

Complimentary sight seeing Ban-Pae Fisherman Village and Local Fresh Fish Market (1 trip/day)

took took driver, 200b/day hire

Late check out 04.00 p.m. (subject to room available)

in other words, MAYBE you can check out late

never heard of this hotel before, and it's location map looks like it's not really on the beach

Rayong Resort is RIGHT on the beach, secluded and beautiful, makes TGs WET

yeah, drinks, meals, everything is expensive, charge it all to your room and just grin and bear it at check-out time

another option is that place Chuck mentioned to CG in Sattahip, TWD went there as well, but I've not been

http://www.RayongResort.com

added :

get the Junior Beach room, it's down on the beachfront, and you can rOOt your fem in the balcony to the rythm of the the waves crashing

oops, that'd be me in Phuket, LOL

Hi Yokal, appreciate the info, but the Rayong Resort is in a completely different class, the Jr Beach Room is 4,237 per night with breakfast at another 600 baht, so thats just under 10,000 baht for the room and b'fast. I'm not looking for 5*, just a nice quiet break away without the kids, in a clean, tidy place. I haven't stopped working for over a year now and I like the idea of being lazy and having the hotel take care of everything, but on a budget.
ftmuch had some good stuff to say about the place via PM but he couldn't post due to a post per day limit, he said the only downside (in 1998 when he was there) was there was nothing to do there, very quiet.
Mel, I noticed the end date, but you never know in Thailand !!
Thanks for the info.

Well Mel, you were right and hotelthailand would not extend the offer, even for a higher amount.
I called the Palmeraie Bangkok sales office direct, they offered me the same package, for my dates at 11,600 for a Suite or 9,200 for a Deluxe Room.
Adding up the figures this now looked like a more expected price than a bargain, so after re-evaluating, I found another website doing the Deluxe room incl Breakfast and tax and service for 2,150 per night, I called the hotel back and they did the deal at 2,000 a night. In my eyes a bargain again.
We can add on the extras as we go through the weekend. Thanks, M.

Ok, trip complete.
This place was dead, not just peaceful and quiet, but completely dead. There is no bar, only the 1 restaraunt, where you can drink, the menu is ok, but not a lot of choice, the breakfast was rubbish, the beach was small, the water dirty, the pool was nice and big, clean, because there were only 3 other couples in the entire hotel, there were always sun beds available. Staff were ok, some were smiley, others couldn't be bothered, and if you want to drink after 11pm, you'd better have your hard face on, the staff were giving devil eyes, obviously wanting to go home.
This place gets a 2 star from me, but true to its name, it is peaceful and quiet.
We ended up getting the bus to the Novotel each night, the food there is excellent, and there are also restaraunts along the beach at more Thai prices.
Great drive down as well, took the 344 all the way to Klaeng, 2 hrs, no traffic.
Oh yeah, a small can of Heiniken is 80 Baht ++, but the maid will goto the shop for you (10 minutes away) and buy whatever you want, saving you nicely.

well, if I'm going on a honeymoon in Rayong, it's Rayong Resort, hands down

but then again, there are nice houses on the beach near where I stay that are only 10k/month, hmm
