Just wondering how far is it from all the action from Chaophaya Park Hotel?

Nice Hotel,
Rooms a little used (I think they are refurbishing), but good facilities great restaurants, but again the pool is a little small. The Suite at 8,000 Per night is over priced.
It is not so far from Asoke (Soi Cowboy) maybe 15-20 mins in a taxi, depending upon the time of day night. But there is always the underground 2 - 3 stops!!!
Get on at (no sure where but ask hotel) and get off at Sukhumvit (Asoke).
Then if/when you have had enough of SC it is just a short (HOT) walk to Nana Plaz or jump on the BTS and travel just one station. Or there are the many Taxis all around...
But make certain they use the meter or simply say no thank you and get out... No arguments no fuss just stand your ground...
But this may be a different scenario after 24:00Hrs especially when exiting Nana or SC as the Taxi driver knows the chance of him getting a return fare from your hotel (Chaophaya Park) at that time of night is slim.
Just ask the girl you are with to bargain with the driver if he does not speak english. But above all bear in mind these guys (Drivers) have to make a living and it's simply not woth getting all upset (like some on this forum) for a handfull of what is basically in your own country just pocket change.
Above all have fun try and link up with other BTF members and put faces to names. Do try the Japanese buffet in the hotel 1st floor it's quit good.

Correct Caronte I missed that lot, but I was in a big rush this morning and I was also trying to be nice.  Its quite difficult to be nice. Sometimes the voices in my head keep telling me not to be nice.

You can have a good time also within the premises of the hotel.....they have very nice Spa rooms with extras available.....plus, you are in Ratchada...Poseidon & Co are only few blocks away!

they have a special business suite rate of 2500 till end of March. Anybody have "recent" experience* or knowledge regarding if they are girl/guest friendly?

Hi,
is this the one near Posiden?
I went to a wedding there and stayed there for a week. bringing girls back was fine back in 2002.
I paid 2000baht special for the wedding party and it was the best value I had ever seen.
even at 2500 it a great deal. It was my first trip to LOS and I couldnt believe it was only 50bucks a night.

Stayed there my first trip to BKK in Sep 2004. First place I went after arriving at the airport. Impressed by the room. It had a huge tub and good location for massage parlours in that area. I think I had some sort of upgrade but can't remember for sure.

By the way, in order to avoid wasting threads. I am looking for an hotel with quick access to the expressway and MRT, which is GF. From reading various posts, I gathered the following information:
- Palazzo and Veronica are GF
- Grand Mercure is OK if you book a double room
- Emerald charges you 600 THB
- Chaophya ?
- Grand hotel ?
