My buddy and I are travelling to Thailand in Feb for a month. We are going to be in BK for 3 nights before we head off to explore down South.
Ive been reading all the reviews in this forum and their are so many with people giving positive and negative reviews that I can't make up my mind.
Here is what we are looking for so hopefully you could suggest something for us.
We are on a budget so we will be sharing a room. Therefore, we require 2 beds.
Something as close to Sukhumvit and BTS as possible.
Girl friendly.
Between $50-80US a night.
Clean and with a pool if possible.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I stayed in the Chatra Court (soi 15) in May last year, it's clean, GF and relatively cheap. I think you can get an apartment with 2 bedrooms for around 2500bht but you can check here http://www.chatracourt.com/eng.asp.
It has a swimming pool, gym and sauna on the roof, with some great views.
It's not as swanky as the others in the area (RP, RS) but
it's good if you're on a budget.
Close to all the action too.
Bit of a rough diamond IMHO.

Try The Grand President on Soi 11, its good vfm and gf.
If you book tell them you want a room in the block with the shop on the ground floor, the rooms are better.

Check out http://www.majesticsuites.com Location is excellent around the corner from Nana. In room safe, guest friendly. Book early as they sell out quickly. I was just turned down for 20 January.

Nana Hotel is great to fully appreciate the ambiance of the Sukhumvit experience. Angels Disco, Nana Car Park afterwords, and people-watching at the morning breakfast buffet, not to mention the comfy beds, all for around 1000 baht. Why pay more?

You've heard right, it is a dump. But the beds are more comfortable than the high priced hotels, and the Nana Hotel is a 'scene'. Every visitor should experience it at least once.
