I don't know about you other expats but I sometimes find myself wanting to go to BKK on short notice, maybe 2-3 days out. Many of the hotels that I go to are ALWAYS booked. It's quite annoying. Here is a list of what I'm working with, maybe someone can add to it. I really never want to spend 5000 baht on a room, 3000 max is ok.

CentrePoint Petchaburi - very nice, killer staff, across from Panthip Plaza, downside BTS is a little bit of a walk.
Very Booked http://centrepoint.com/

President Park Soi 11 - it's ok, don't take Tower 3.. too old. Not far from anything since its on BTS.
Usually they have a room, and other properties on Soi 22 too.

Admiral Suites - great and rooms are very comfortable, but they never seem to have a room.

Bourbon St - I like using my laptop downstairs, rooms are clean and Khun Doug the owner is a great guy. http://www.bourbonstbkk.com

President Solitare - Never been here but it's on the high end side but then again it has 42" plasma tv's.

I'll try to update this post

Try Centre Point Sukhumvit Soi 10. Tuk Tuk service 24/7 to Sukhumvit and the BTS is with-in a block. Great place and very girl friendly.

Can someone provide another update on this please?

I need a hotel that is reasonably priced that offers (wired) in room high speed internet.

Moreover, I wonder if there is a list out there of all the hotels that offer wireless/wired internet for BKK. Please help.

Thanks,

Lil devil

Centre Point Petchburi -- 1,900 to 2,100 THB per night. In rood wired internet. No complaints, and they have been doing renovations over the past 6 months.

Dynasty Inn Grande, soi 6 - in-room wired high speed Internet free and wireless in lobby/restaurant/cafe also free.

5 min hike to Nana BTS, same-same to NEP. Rooms large, clean and new BUT walls VERY thin, someone farts three doors down and you know about it (audibly at least). They also pissed me off with a room facing the pool so you either have to live with an audience or without sunlight. Usually have rooms with above limitations.

Landmark - free wireless in lobby/cafe, but lobby usually stinks of smoke. In room wired connection is about GBP10 per day (!). Usually have room - only place I could get a room without reservation over New Year when I quit the Dynasty Grande.

Amari Something on Soi 5 - also had rooms over NY but more expensive than the Landmark (!). Good, free wireless in lobby, don't know about room connections. 2 min. to Nana BTS.

Majestic Suites - in-room wireless, not free. IIRC 400-500THB/day. 2 mins Nana BTS. Usually have rooms off-peak at short notice.

Anybody know if the newly refurbished Dynasty Inn, Soi 4 have also upgraded their Internet services?

last trip stayed at Landmark and used Gulliver's soi 5 for Internet, but often smokey.
