I recently spent a night at Livingstone's Lodge, and would like to give a most positive report of my brief stay there. From the moment of my arrival, I was made to feel welcome. I met the owner, who was most cordial, and made me feel immediately at home. While waiting for the desk clerk to finish my information on the computer, I was given a refreshing cold drink, which was what I needed after a 17 hour flight! I was dreading carrying my heavy bags up the stairs, but I needn't have worried, as they were quickly brought up by some of the hotel's staff. The first thing that hit me when I opened the door to my room, was how fresh smelling it was....NOT always the case in many hotels I have stayed in, including expensive ones! The room itself was quite attractive, with many nice decorative features. The lighting was quite romantic, which helped sett he mood later. The A/C was quiet and efficient, with once again....no funky smells. I was pleased to hear no street noises from soi 33. The king-sized bed was comfortable, with soft sheets (NOT your typical hotel cardboard variety!) with a nice duvet. The spacious bathroom was nicely appointed with plenty of soft towels AND a jacuzzi! My TG companion and I enjoyed a nice soapy soak that evening! We enjoyed a very nice dinner in the restaurant. I had the best steak I have ever had in Thailand...with some outstanding homefries. In conclusion, I would have to give Livingstones a definite thumbs up! I look forward to staying there again the next time I am in Bangkok

My room was 2600 Baht. There WERE less expensive rooms available, but I wanted the jacuzzi. For me at least, it was worth the price. I was only there for a single night, but there are promotions for forum members staying multiple nights. Check them out. Having a comfortable place with atmosphere makes a big difference for me.

I had another great stay at Livingstone's this week. I was in BKK on a day trip. I checked in quite early (5:00 AM) which was no problem with the staff, and checked out in the evening. My room had an even larger jacuzzi than on my first visit! My only regret is that I could not stay longer! Hopefully next trip I will be able to do so!

Yep, still 1500 baht. Same reason I don't visit Soi 33 bars too often. I think The Office bar fines are less.

I've stayed at LL a few times. I'll be back there in about 5 weeks, staying for a week. Keep in mind that you do not have to BF one of the Livingstone's girls. I've often taken a girl or two from Soi Cowboy during a night out with the very hospitable Giotto (the owner). One time I took four girls back to my large room - good fun, but too much work.  Next time I'll settle for one or two girls.
I think the room rates start at 1800 for decent sized rooms. I pay a bit more for the extra-large room with jacuzzi (Room 114).

Giotto is the owner (not his real name, but his nickname on ISG forum, where he posts daily).
The manager is Guido.
I know both guys pretty well. Both are real gents and party animals, simultaneously and at the same time.

That's right.... the real name of the owner is not Giotto... I know him only under his real name....
I thought Giotto was the nickname of Guido... Don't create confusion.. maybe one of the BTF members ask the staff for Giotto and they might have no clue.
