FuramaXclusive Asoke-Sukhumvit - http://furamaxclusive.com/asoke/contact.php Just wrapped up a 6-night stay at FX-Asoke. New hotel, clean, friendly & helpful staff, great location near BTS/MRT Asoke and Soi Cowboy. I booked on Expedia under the 3rd Night Free campaign. My average daily rate USD48 + tax/chgs, breakfast and wired/wireless Internet included. Complimentary drinks during Happy Hour at the pool 17:30-18:30. Not sure how widely stocked the pool bar is, but they definitely have enough Chang beer on hand to consume within ~60 minutes. If taking a taxi to FX-Asoke from the airport, recommend having a map to the hotel and the hotel ph#. Agoda.com has a great hotel map function. Hotel is definitely GF. FX-Asoke recommended.

Many thanks to Babaganoosh for his above review. I would never have known about FuramaXclusive otherwise. I, too, found Expedia to have a ridiculously low rate for this hotel. Under the "3rd night free" promotion, I booked 6 nights for a total of $295, including all taxes and booking fees. This rate included free WiFi internet, and free buffet breakfast. For slightly less than $50/night (all inclusive), this hotel cannot be beat. This compares to 2142 Baht/night plus taxes on the hotel website. Some positive comments: 1. If you spend most of your time around the Soi Cowboy area, you really cannot beat the location. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk to SC, on the opposite side of the street. 2. Very clean, modern, contemporary rooms. 3. Free breakfast and unlimited WiFi use. 4. 5 minute walk to the Asoke BTS station. Here are some negative comments: 1. The mattress was extremely firm. If the bed was any firmer, it would be uncomfortable. I'm not sure why they would have chosen such a firm mattress. Perhaps it was just my particular room, but I would guess that many guests would find such a firm mattress questionable. 2. There are two shower heads in the bathroom. One above the bathtub, and another directly adjacent to the bathtub, in a stand-up shower area enclosed in glass. It is completely impossible to take a shower in the "stand-up" area without soaking the bathroom floor. The glass door was not sealed properly, and water basically gushes out onto the floor. However, the shower in the bathtub worked perfectly fine. 3. The complimentary shampoo and soap smelled like walnuts. The soap and shampoo at Dream Hotel smelled much better. 4. The pool on the rooftop is somewhat of a joke. Rather than a real pool, they have two extremely oversized jacuzzi-like pools. 5. To use a computer, they charge 200 Baht/hour. If you have your own laptop, the WiFi use is free. 6. If you spend most of your time in the Nana area, you might find the walk along Sukhumvit a bit long and annoying everyday. The distance to Nana is too short for a BTS trip, yet a bit long to walk at midnight when you've been drinking all night. In summary, my criticisms are rather insignificant, and I highly recommend this hotel provided they keep their rates lower than Dream Hotel and S15. I simply could not pass up the under $50/night rate. The Expedia rate for Dream during the same period of time was about $25/night more. For the difference, FuramaXclusive was a great deal. If this hotel raises it's rates over time, and it becomes comparable to Dream or S15, I'd rather choose the latter two. Very clean, contemporary hotel, with a remarkably low rate. No regrets.

Baba & B'man, 1st off Buttman...I am all about a soft bed...I will pay 20 bucks a night more for a comfortable bed alone with the down comforter to boot! On my last trip in Feb...I had 3 friends from the states staying in BKK... 1 was at Citadines, 1 was at FuramaX, I was at TL, and my other buddy hadnt been to BKK in years and opted for Nana (as it was his old stomping ground....) The first 3 are all very nice room values....and I ended my trip at Citadines soi 23 and LOVED the hotel overall and the location... The thing I would point out is walking out of FuramaX was you were right on Asoke, which may be good for some...However, I personally liked it better walking out to soi 23 (almost at Chok Chai Steak House) but that is just me... the rooms at FuramaX were great but I didnt get the price my bud was paying...but it seemed like a great hotel.... However, I really, really liked Citadines...but FX was very contemporary and nice and I would say its a great value hotel room.... we ragged on my other friend that insisted on staying at Nana (as he was all about the location lol!) That place is a shithole and we ragged on my buddy for actually taking girls back to that mold infested room.....I mean what chick would think you had any class staying at Nana??????? Bottom line, great hotel deals are to be had in Bangkok... atl

Compromising personal quality because of the 'advantage' of proximity to Nana is truly the sign of immaturity. Especially with taxi transportation as cheap as it is in Bangkok, foregoing picking a comfortable and nice place is just dumb, plus it really establishes you as a creep with most girls to be staying in a shithole like the Nana. On my very first trip, I stayed at Golden Palace on Soi 1 - another shithole (I hear it was renovated recently). I stayed there because the buddy that introduced me to BKK swore by it. After a girl I took back, asked me surprised WHY I stayed at that place, because "someone like you should stay better place", I corrected this mistake as of my next trip. Since then, I have stayed at my favorite residence, and it's both relaxing and comfortable for both myself and the girls I bring back - win/win.

Interesting. If you ask 5 people where their favourite spot on Sukhumvit road is you would probably get 5 different answers. I think my fav spot would be around Soi 11. You've got some good night clubs down there, supermarket & you're also not far away from either NEP or Cowboy. Nana skytrain entrance close to the start of Soi 11, & the evening freelancers on Sukhumvit road, not forgetting Thermae & Beer Garden close by

To the two previous posters re FX-Asoke, What where the noise levels like inside the rooms? And, I don't mean from inside your own rooms either............plenty of yowling no doubt! I recently stayed in grottino on soi19, nice location but the noise from other rooms became annoying after a while. People checking out early, tv's blaring, someone above seemed to run around in the mornings banging their feet on the floor/ceiling. Hell, I am starting to whinge like an old man! Tuck

Friar Tuck I never heard anything from within the hotel, or from other rooms. However, there was quite a bit of noise from the outside. Somewhere near the hotel, there is an overly eager whistle-blower who can be heard all damn day, directing traffic. Trying to take a nap during the middle of the day was difficult, as this guy was directing traffic and blowing his whistle non-stop. Every ten seconds, I could hear it. But I wouldn't let that prevent you from staying there. Perhaps you could ask for a room that did not overlook a busy street. Or perhaps the overly eager whistle blower is no longer there. Considering the cheap price, this hotel was a fantastic value, even with the annoying whistle officer. Regards, Buttman
