I just stayed in Maxx a week ago. I do not suggest anyone booking this hotel. I cannot say if the hotel is guest-friendly or non-guest friendly (because I found their policy is very inconsistent). But I surely can say it likes to harass whoever bringing guest back to the room.

Just wondering if Maxx Hotel underwent a recent facelift?
I heard they renovated their rooms and facilities about 6 months ago. Can anyone confirm this?

Was there end of March 06. No trouble bringing girl back. Found the staff to be helpful, did not eat or drink there. My room was clean but worn no rehab. Did see one room getting lite facelift. I think the renovation is a slow on going process.
Its ok for the low end. Did not see bugs, however there was an open floor drain in the bath. Anything could crawl out into the room. For me it was okay because I was only there two nights. May stay long time if the room has been remodeled.

Maxx very ordinary,,,,price, location, quality is out of balance. I especially hate those stupid triangular floor mounted light fixtures things,, look dumb.
Anyway back to positives,,, if you particularly like the area around Ratchadapisek the Siam Beverly hotel is much better.
