Stayed there last month and booked in again next week.
Overall it is worth what you are paying in terms of room qualiy etc. The bedroom corridors are very bland but rooms and coffee shop fine.
I was never asked at all to show the ID of the girls I took back. Some might call this a disadvantage since no checks are made. But I am always very careful not to leave anything lying around in the room anyway.
Of course, location is great.

Hi Kojak,
Stayed there in May and no problems with guest policy providing double is booked. I liked the rooms and thought this was good value for money. And as Dave pointed out the location is great. Halfway between NEP and Soi Cowboy.
Best rate is via Siam-Online 950 Baht per night for double room.

This is at the top of my short list for booking when I arrive in a few weeks time. Someone asked the same question recently on the other Bkk board and got some very negative vibes.I'm going with the responses from this board and will book via Siam on line tonight.Can't wait !!!

I just checked back.The comments ranged from:
Gone downhill,breakfast not so good,maid service slow,a lot less guest friendly on my last visit,thumbs down on my last stay, plus believed to be in the middle of renovations.The best report was a third hand my friend said it was ok.another poster claimed problems with security man.I know different people have different views and needs when staying at hotels.It makes it difficult to judge when faced with totally conflicting reports especially when like myself this being my first visit to Los.Any reassurances gratefully received!

frankly I never noticed anything that you post. But I admit that when I was coming and going in the hotel I was usually with a girl, and with some beer in me, so perhaps not paying attention. ha ha
So next week I will try to be more observant and let you know.
Main reason why I am going back there is that it is so close to a few bars that I use, and it was perfectly OK for what you are paying

I just called the Manhattan Hotel. I was told that there is a B471 charge for guests. On the plus side they do have in-room safes.

Last month I took 8 girls back to the hotel , over 5 days,and like I said, none of them were asked to show ID's. Sure I had booked a double room but this didn't matter 'cos I was never challenged.
I will post next weeks experience. But if I get any hassle or 1 attempt at a joiner fee, I will just check out.
Maybe your call got a little confused between single and double booking. The hotel does have different rates for single and double.

It is possible and there were some communications problems. I didn't specify single or double room. Maybe it only applies to the single.
