I stayed at Landmark for a couple of nights last year and indeed I think it is a nice hotel, especially for those prices quoted above. I did, however, had a small problem when I wanted to check out. I had also got the rate quoted in US$ but when I was checking out they wanted me to pay the rent in THB. That was fine with me too but the problem was that their US$/THB exchange rate was about 2 THB higher than the current rate at the time. I mentioned this at the reception and asked them either charge my credit card for the exact amount in US$ or use the current exchange rate to charge in THB but they did not accept either of my suggestions and insisted that they can only charge my CC in THB for the exchange rate which they have decided! The whole difference was about 1000 THB but I still felt that what they were doing was not right. At the end they called the manager and I explained the problem to him. He was actually very nice and polite and reduced the exchange rate a little bit but I think I still paid something around 500 THB more than the current rate at the time. He also said that they will look into it and see if they can charge the CC in US$ so I am not sure what their policy is now.

Go to the ATM and withdraw cash to pay for it.

Well, the point is that they use their own exchange rate to convert US$ to THB so I can not see how taking out cash from an ATM would help in that regard. In addition, given all the fees involved in taking out cash from ATM, not to mention the hassle, that is not a good solution in general.

Booked my rooms through asiatravel for $65 USD/night, early bird special (14+ days before arrival). price already includes all taxes-special fees-everything else. Thank you. Hope that means I paid for it already through this agency and won't be asked to pay at check-out in THB. Have anyone been to the steakhouse on the top floor recently ? I went there many years ago, the steak was average but the hostesses were good eye candy.

I'll revive this thread for some updates on Landmark upper level rooms and service... Is Club Floor worth it? $135 on Latestays, which has Std @ $75, and what are their "Lifestyle" rooms? In the $145 range. I know Landmark has a great gym, and the location is equal to any for BTS access. My interest is in whether it's good value to get the best room and bundled services that this 4* hotel offers rather than just splash out $150-200 for InterContinental/JWM/Grand Hyatt/Le Meridien When you add in Breakfast/Internet on some of the low ball quotes then you can easily add $40-50 /day to the room tariff.
