Does anybody know about the Suda Palace Hotel (address Sutthisarn Road, Phaya Thai, Bangkok 10240) ? I can't find a hotel website that works and looking at other websites that advertise hotels there are only a few reports - some Ok, but most a bit worrying. Has anyone here stayed at this hotel or does anyone have first hand knowledge of it that they can share here please?

Hotel is way out from the Suk Area, so not a lot of BTF members who stayed there I guess. Found this review: abdulfar… 1 reviews Hotel suda palace Nov 08, 2011 When I checked in the hotel SUDA PALACE I was not sure if I wanted to stay there for long, but as one day passed I felt its pretty okay, it has old time wooden kinda look very English, room service is fine and the food is just about okay, but the good part is, just a block away there are many eatery's and 7/11 stores on both the side of the hotel, plus the BTS transport is hop, skip and jump, the hotel provides free wifi and free breakfast from 6 to 10 am with fruits, eggs and also Thai food. since its an old building there is less freshness to it and maybe some rooms might smell funny, but if you are roughing it out you can make do with a room freshener a you check inn, the exchange rates are one of the best that the hotel offers, the usual crowed in the hotel is backpackers, Europeans, Americans, and Thai, the area is also very safe and pretty populated. over all its a good deal for budget travelers, if a big group they make a huge discount from 500 Thai baht to 1000 a day, they clean everyday and there is air condition and hot water facility available in that price.

What is the standard? Are there safetyboxes in the rooms? How are the surroundings?

Have passed the place. Never stayed there. It is completely out of the way. Suthisarn area. Some say gangster area. But I am not so sure. Cannot imagine why anyone wants to stay in this poorly located place. You sound fixated to this place. Maybe your friend recommended? Have you got a specific nearby KTV close to this hotel that makes you want to stay there?

Thanks for the feedback. Some of you asked why would you stay there. Well, I am going to a course at this hotel in May and have been offered a discounted room at THB350 per night. But want to find out what I can about the place before I book. My own internet searches suggested the place is a bit of a dump; so I was looking for a 2nd opinion from here. But at the price I can rough it for a night or two as long as it ain't too bad. I'll probably pay BKK and this hotel a visit a couple of weeks before the course starts. If I can handle the hotel I will book a room for the duration of the course, if not I will find another hotel near enough to be able to get there for the course. Then sleep at the other hotel. Anyone have any other recommendations in the area?

Since you in a sex forum.................hahahaha, Why dont you get a hotel where all others get them and use public transportation to get to your courses. Though you cant argue with the price.
