stayed there for 3 nites at tower 3. ladies have to register upon entry to rooms, not a trouble with the friendly nite time security guard. ignore the taxi touts at the entrance of the small lane.

Folks, for those of you who have stayed at the Grand President, how far away is it from the main Sukhumvit Road? The reason I ask is, I'm trying to decide between the Grand President and the Royal President and will choose the one that's closest to Sukhumvit, but this map that I saw: http://www.asiatravel.com/thailand/grandpresident/v3.html
gives the impression that the Royal President is closer. I always thought that the GP was closer.

mt, the difference in distance to Sukhumvit road between these two hotels is maybe 50 meters. Not really important. If you frequent Soi Cowboy, The Royal president is closer but The Grand president is closer to Nana. Again the difference is a five minute walk.
I really like the shortcut from the soi 7 beergarden to the Grand President. Not so exposed if you know what I mean.

president park is the nicest of the President's but on soi 24..... close to soi cowboy... im just plugging it because i live here and would be out every night whore-mongering if i lived too close to the action =)

Grand President is ok, but getting older, see next post. Visitors are not a problem with no extra charge. They have a in house massage, but the girls there definitely think they are worth more than they are.

Have stayed at the Grand President numerous time over the past 5 years, sometimes for a day sometimes for a month. Often rooms are hit and miss, sometimes you get a really good one and sometimes not so good. It is definitely becoming an older residence/hotel. I continue to stay there because of the convenience.
Close to NP and soi Cowboy, close to 24hour Foodland on soi 5 with a shortcut through the Park hotel.
Literally 2 minutes from the Eden Club - need I say more.
Also 5 minutes from Nana station and the skytrain, which gets me out of traffic when working.
Overall the hotel is visitor friendly, often asking for the ID of said visitor. Rooms all have nuker and tv vcr and stereo, and come with all of the necessities to stay for a long time.
Royal President is newer, and President Park is supposed to be the best, but I have yet to stay there

My thanks to all of you for your responses. I have stayed at President Park and it's very nice. The only thing I don't like about it is that it's quite far down away from Sukhumvit Road. However, they do have a free shuttle service that runs from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays that takes you to the Emporium. I found this convenient whenever I wanted an oily at Baron's! This place was very guest-friendly and never bothered me or my numerous guests.

kmanrox, are prices at the President Park similar to those of the Grand President, if so I might give it a try next time. Doubt if it would keep me of the hunting grounds though.
