Have narrowed down to two hotels (Sukhumvit Area) to decide which to stay during my coming trip. Which one should I choose ? Advise which is the better hotel overall and why?

Hey brother Cas, I don't know anything about the Manhattan but can definitely tell you about Nana. I stayed there back in May. I'll be staying at Raumchitt Plaza hotel in 2 weeks. The staff at Nana were a bit on the rude side, the food at the restaurant was a bit on the plain side for my taste, my room on the 8th floor had stains on the carpet (Damn I hope those were spilled food or drink kind of stains  ) and the blanket was well worn, and I really enjoyed watching the roaches scatter in all directions every time I turned on the bathroom lights. The Manhattan is starting to sound a little more attractive to you isn't it, although like I said I have no information on that place so it could have some of the same kind of problems. Peace

I have tried both hotels this year and lean towards Manhattan. Reasons
1. rooms slightly better
2. better location for my preferences ( bar hopping in Sukhumvit)
3. staff friendly and no guest problems

I thought you would have picked up by now that Nana hotel IS guest friendly so if you book double then OK. It is almost compulsory to have a guest at this hotel.

Sorry to sound naive, but when you say book a double, do you mean the type of room, or just to say its for two people when you get there?

Some hotels charge different rates for single or double occupancy, so make sure you state and pay for double when you make your booking.

I stayed at nana hotel last june of this year.I didn't get big prblem.No extra charge for guest.Its very close to nana entertainnment area.Angel disco is inside of this hotel.Yes,staffs are some unfriendly.

Maybe its a different system for ferangs as opposed to thais. ps02, i guess you are asian, perhaps they thought you were thai and so didnt charge you extra. Is that possible?
