Hello,
I am newbie here. I am visiting the LOS next month, 1st time. I have read this forum and it is providing lots of info. I have question . Since Novotel Siam is not guest friendly, how do they know if someone is staying at the hotel and invite guest from CM2 since it locates in(inside ?) the hotel. Thank you in advance.

They profile. Just like the cops wrongfully do to the African American motorists here in the good old USA.
You could be non-Thai married to a local Thai girl and they would think your wife is a bar girl.

globetreker, the security at the lifts, will normally send you over to the front desk to get your girl signed in. If you have not booked a double, they will hit you with the joiner fee.

Even booking a double at this hotel doesn't avoid the joiner fee, about 750 baht.
If you want to use this hotel, and you want to avoid hassle and you aleady have a partner then she will have to check in with you. Otherwise go somewhere else. The hotel sucks.

I saw this interesting case, where this chap had booked a double through the agent, but that agent booked a single instead and probably pocketed the difference. So, he ended up having to pay the joiner. He did make a big fuss though, after all it wasn't his fault.

Yes. I was booked DOUBLE. But you have seen me and I can hardly look like a " couple" when going into the hotel my guest. So I checked out the following day. The security guys were damn rude to the girl as well.

Well, it is a good reason not to recommend this hotel anymore. Let's label this the "family" hotel.

Hey BK,
I always book a double at Radisson. But every time I try to check in, they would ask for the name of the other guest. Well, what would you do in that case? Make up a Thai name?

To All,
I stayed in this hotel(Novotel-Siam square). If I go with my family, Iw ould prefer to stay here. If I go for my own enjoyment, I WILL NEVER STAY HERE .
If you book double or triple or a suite(if they have) , you have to pay Bht. 750 for each single guest , each night.
And the security guys misbehave with the girls . It is true.
So all of us, who stayed there, cannot be wrong at the same time.
