hi guys !
first of all i would like to thank all of you posting and sharing there knowledge! i have been to los once around 3 years ago and i will returnt to los in october... i am looking for a hotel in the 400- 500 baht range with air-con near the action or close to a skytrain station. any help is greatly appreciated.

Definitely within reach of BTS and so on. But it may not be guest friendly. What is the reason for choosing a budget accomodation like that? You are not going to have much fun with a budgetted holiday.

you can try mike's place on soi 3 and also the pb hotel on the connection from soi 3 to soi 11. both have daily rates around thb 500. the last one is a short time hotel but they do offer better rooms for long term residents.
also the various hotels in soi 8 are an option at rates of around thb 500-600.
all rooms in these places have aircon + plus ensuite bathroom.

is think this one you suggested is not guest friendly, at least is says it on their homepage... i last time stayed in a hotel in chinatown for 400 baht, big room and clean, but location was terrible. that's why i look for something similar , but closer to the action. i am on a worldtrip for 1 year, starting in los. at least it i will be a worldtrip if i make it out of los at all, lol. that's why i am sort of on a budget (always depends on your opinion / requirement). anyways, your help is appreciated.

69, try mike's place as they are for sure guest friendly. one of my friends stayed there about a year ago for thb 450 for a month.
rooms are huge, with safe, tv, aircon, refrigerator and they did not complain about an orgy with 8 girls and 3 guys lasting for two days!!!

I didn't know Mike's Place Hotel was that cheap! I paid 900 B a few years ago. I know the one next door was about 500B, but can't remember the name of that place. It is definitely guest friendly. The used to have in-house massage (traditional and oil) as well. It was great, but, unfortunately, is is no more.

Can anybody provide some info on City Lodge at Sukhumvit Road ? I understand that there are two (2) City Lodge on the SAME road - whioch one is better in terms of room,service,facilities, rates, etc ?

City lodge on soi 9 usually a little cheaper, will discount for a week, but still around 900 bt - a good tip, very guest friendly, and right on the skytrain, is "Premier" about 20 yards down soi 8, not alot of rooms, often full, and some rooms only have twin beds, but has all you need, and around 600 - 650 bt. The Grace used to have rooms for that as well .... it had gone down hill lately, but then again, with the revival of the coffee shop now jam packed with TGs till 4 - 5 am, maybe its worth a look.
