Hi!! I have almost completely decided on one of theese two hotels (Manhattan & Majestic Suites) for when I´m in BKK. Since I have never stayed at any of theese I hope that you guys can help me out. 1. Which of theese hotels is the most guestfriendly? If I book a double room is there still a risk of me having to pay a jonier fee at one of the hotels? 2. Which is the most "respectable" hotel, by that I mean that people at home (friends and family) will not get any "ideas" when they here that I am staying at one of theese hotels. You know what I mean.... Thanks in advance!!

Swede 23 Both hotels are guest friendly if you book double, and both are quite respectable. If you choose Majestic then you wil be better with superior room. if you coose Manhattan, be sure to request large bed, rather than twin room. Majestic is nearer to Nana EP, but Manhattan is more central to all Sukhumvit action, but the hotels are only about 10 minute walk apart anyway OK? Dave

I once stayed at the Majestic, and found the place very pleasant and certainly guest friendly, BUT, if you stay at there be sure to request a room toward the back of the hotel, or else you will suffer from the street noise on Sukhumvit. I have never stayed at the Manhatten, but a friend of mine was there last month and really liked the place.

yeah......... both hotels are fine I have always booked on line with an agency which have security for credit card bookings when I stayed at Manhattan. if you book direct with the hotel, I'm not sure that that would be secure. Not that I wouldn't trust the hotel, but open internet isn't secure. Dave

Thanks for the info!! I think I will send my CC to them. But I will see if I can avoid that first... we`ll see, they seem to be a reliable hotel, but Asia is Asia so never take anything for granted.. Anyway I have decided on the Double superior room... That way I do not think that I will have any problems what so ever with the hotel. But as you guys said in some earlier posts, The majestic Suites is guest friendly... Thanks Cheers

"The folks back home" will fall into two categories - 1) The knowlegeable few who will know EXACTLY why you are in BKK, no matter which hotel you choose, even the most expensive. 2) The rest, who won't have the foggiest. Tony
