The Siam City Hotel in Bangkok I have never heard of it, but a friend has won a price: two weeks in Bangkok.
He has to stay in the Siam City Hotel, can anybody therfore tell me how the guestpolicy in that hotel is

Siam City Hotel is on Sri Ayuthya Road, between the Vistory Monument and the Royal Chitrada Palace.
Not a great location relative to the nightlife and not likely to be guest friendly, but your friend can ask. About the only nightlife around there are the Chaophya 2 and 3 massage parlors (or whatever their new name is) and frankly I don't consider those to be suitable for novices.
It's a good thing he is getting comped, as this place is $89 - 99 US a night. (3500 to 4300 baht a night).

MEANDER,
Siam City Hotel has a difficult "girl friendly" policy. We organised there a couple of meetings and our participants got few "embarrassing" rushes with the security guys.
This place is just two minutes walk from Payathai BTS Station (junction Sri Ayuttaya/Payathai Rd). Thus, your friend can reach the favorite Bangkok landmarks/night spots taking the BTS from Payathai e.g. only two stops to Siam Square and 4-5 stops to NEP/SILOM/COWBOY, etc.
However, once at the hotel, your friend may wish to walk on the same side of the road 100 yards towards Pratunam (left) and give a try to Chavalla MP (just beneath the pedestrian bridge). Nice BJ for 1.2K and a small tip for a full session (all included). If not satisfied, keep walking 50 yards more same direction/side of the road and get in Chaophraya No. 2 (see more at http://www.bangkokmovies.com - erotic sub index)....and if the selection of TGs is not his taste he may wish to take the pedestrian brige to cross Sri Ayuttaya Rd. and hit J1 MP. He can see me there having a beer and talking with my regular....je!
NOTE. Request your friend to forget walking around the back side of the hotel. That is Rang Nam Av. and has lots of numbered hotels. Not nice faces walking on the street in the evening and better forget to get in one of those. Hope this helps. Cheers!!!!

Siam City is a DEFINATELY NOT A GF hotel. My travel agent booked me there For one night. 3000 baht. Very nice room and facility but would make for one long long walk of shame.
I booked it for 2 poeple. When I checked in they asked where is your wife. I said she's out shopping. They said okay check her in later. 1 hour later I get a call from the front desk.
Where is your wife.
I say she's is still out.
Their response "What's her name, surname and first name. "
I say I will have her give you her I.D. when she comes in.
They respond "Your wife Thai or american?"
I say I have Thai girlfreind.
They say "whats her name"
I repeat "look I will have her give you her ID when we come back from dinner."
They say "You don't know her name"
This is very unthai And I ask why are they giving me such hard time.
He responds. I am changing your room to show it as a single if you bring a guest in that is not your wife then you will have to pay an additional 3000 baht.
Later that night when I return to hotel (at 2 am alone) there are 3 managers standing outside with 2 security by the front door. I didn't not see one single BG on the premises at any time.

This place is very popular with politicians (quite close to parliament) and is owned by a hiso. So they really are not GF.
There is a short time hotel within a minutes walk (probably popular with the politicians too). If I was single guy I would definitely give up the comp for a better location and more 'friendly' service.
However, it has a newly renovated pool and gym and the japanese, chinese and Italian restaurants arent bad.
