First thanks to everybody for posting!! Without this forum I don't think I would ever have made a trip to BKK. How did you guys figure things out before the internet???
I have booked my first trip in Jan. and I need to figure out which of these 2 hotels I should book?
I found a lot of info about the Majestic but virtually none on the Dynasty hotel? Even though it is just steps from NEP!!!
The main thing I was wondering is if you can get a girl into either of these 2 hotels without checking the girl's ID? I know you want to get in the back building at the Dynasty but I heard there is still a security guard back there? At the Majestic I read where a guy did not have to check a id? I don't know if this is the general rule or not? I don't care about the "walk of shame" but I am worried about underage girls with fake id's! After reading posts about this I just prefer to avoid getting turned in by a member of the hotel staff. Since I will not be taking freelancers for LT on my first trip I am not worried about the girl robbing me or anything.
Also how do the breakfasts compare? A buffet like Nana?

there are lots of threads about majestic suite. My buddy stayed at majestic while i was staying at landmark(spoiled brat) and he really liked the place. and I believe you can get the awsome rate through net. I believe someone posted the net site where rate were cheaper then all the net sites i have seen so far. I believe it was asia-travel.com. Also search on how to check tg Id's since thail calendar is about 500 years ahead of us. I believe you want a look for 2526 and above on the id to make sure girl is atleast 19. Avoid the thearme because I have seen lots of under age girls over there

Walk of shame, what nonsense the girls are all used to having their ID checked and held by security. It's for your safety to have her checked in. Before you go out ask what the current year is and deduct 21 from it and check her ID yourself. At the Majestic they won't check if you don't want them to.

Yes, if there is the slightest doubt the punter should check the ID himself. However, there is the possibility that the ID is fake and the punter won't realize it, but the clerk will.
I would think that if you stay in a decent place that the likelihood of being turned in because of a suspicious id is pretty small. They don't want to cause a scene in the hotel or discourage customers. (If the girl looks like a 13 year old it will be a different story.) This is just conjecture, don't ask me to bail you out from jail!

There seems to be virtually no info on this hotel even though it is so close to the NEP? Is it a great place that people want to keep quiet???

I stayed at the Dynasty for the first time on my last trip. Not nearly as new or nice as Majestic Suites, but definitely a quieter location as it is tucked back on Nana and not directly on Sukhumvit. I usually go with M. Suites but in this case I either wanted to change hotels or Majestic wasn't available. I think the price was around 800-900 B / night, versus a range of about 1100-1600 for the Majestic. Room at the Dynasty was clean, basic, service not elaborate but decent. Either is fine, IMO, just depending a bit on your budget. Note that although the appointments in Dynasty were older it was clean and had A/C, so it's not a pit. Also room is somewhat bigger at Dynasty.

stayed at Dynasty Hotel several times, standard room is 990bht, superior room 1400 bht. there is a new section at the back of the hotel it was opened about mid september, cost of room 1100 bht. everything was new a little larger than the standard room. But when I stayed there there was a problem with drainage in the shower. should be fixed by now. last time I stayed there was in october. hotel is guest friendly no extra charge for bringing a lady to your room unless you bring more than one. depends on whose on the desk at night, sometimes they check Id and sometime they don't. hope this info helps you out bro? 28 more days and I return to LOS!!!!!
