Ahhh so tough choice... I'm looking for 2 bedroom serviced room around 2.5k-3k per day.

So far, best candidates seem Somerset Lakepoint, Omni tower and Royal President.
Somerset Lakepoint
80sqm, 2800 per night
41 Sukhumvit 16, Sukhumvit Road, Klongtoey Bangkok 10110, Thailand

Omni Tower
80sqm, 2600 per night
Sukhumvit Soi4 (Nana Tai), Klongtoey,
Bangkok 10110

Royal President
70sqm, 3000 per night43 Sukhumvit Soi 15, Bangkok
10110, Thailand

Which one would you choose and why?  All 3 places seem guest friendly and good reputation so far.  Anyone has stayed all 3 apartment?  Any comment?

Thanks.

qsxd,

I have viewed all of the serviced apartments you mentioned and each one has its own merits and detractions. I selected Somerset Lakepoint as the best all round according to my requirements, but my requirements as a resident may be different to what you're looking for.

You already know the prices so I'll just focus on location and quality.

Location:  All of them are in the Sukhumvit area and easy access to BTS and entertainment areas.  If you want to be right on top of the Nana action then Omni is your choice, however, there are quite a few low-life's hanging around there and you may not want to be in that area all the time.  The Royal President is a short walk to Nana and is far enough away from the main Sukhumvit road to escape the noise. Lakepoint is quite a way up Soi 16 (coming from the Asoke junction) so it is the quieter of the three, but the longest walk / taxi ride to Sukhumvit. Check BK's map of Sukhumvit and you'll get the picture.

Quality. I think the Omni is the oldest of the three buildings and the apartment I viewed was showing its age a bit (although the largest). The Royal President was fine although the apartments were smaller than Omni.  Somerset Lakepoint is the newest of the three and is furnished to a high standard.  If you are looking for up-market then this one wins.

Whichever one you select there should not be any problems with bringing in guests to a serviced apartment...ID card and name logged at reception / security.

Hope this helps.

Root, that was a great reply.  Thank you!  Sound like Somerset Lakepoint is the best choice for me.

I have couple more questions about Somerset Lakepoint.

Root, have you been inside of Somerset Lakepoint Executive 2 bedroom? not superior, deluxe, or any other type but Executive 2 bedroom.  They said they can rent only Executive 2 bedroom for short term lease.

I'm wondering about the floor plan.  I guess master bedroom has the attached bathroom, but I wish the second bathroom is not so far away from the second room.

Do you know any other Service apartment that would be better than Somerset Lakepoint for around 3k bat per night?

Thanks again!

qsxd, I've seen all of the rooms at the serviced and non-serviced apartments but this was a few years ago and I can't remember the difference in layout between a 2 bed Executive and a 2 bed Deluxe or Superior.

I asked one of my girls to contact Lakepoint for a floor plan of the Executive 2 bed and received a floor plan with the title 2 bed Grand Deluxe and a message that this is the same layout as the 2 bed Executive.  I'm not convinced....sounds like a case of TIT to me.

What I can tell you is that all the master bedrooms have bathroom en-suite and the second bathroom is normally adjacent to the second bedroom...sometimes with it's own access door, sometimes with access via the living room.

For B.2,800 a night for a 2 bedroom, up-market place you won't be dissapointed and IMHO this is probably the best in the under B. 3K / night serviced apartment group.

And yes, the master bed is plenty big enough to share with a couple of TG's!

No problem...happy to be of help.  By the way, I don't go to Nana or PP much these days, however, if you want to go hunting around Soi 33, CM2 or Orbitz type places while you're in town then let me know.

b1972xo,

The courtesy shuttle bus (double seater Tuk Tuk) will take you to the end of Soi 16, near to Asoke junction (2 minute ride or 10 minute walk). Then you just cross the road to Asoke BTS.

There is a 7 Eleven type supermarket close to the apartments or Robinsons on Sukhumvit 19 depending on what you're looking for.
