G'day guys,
I am considering staying at Novotel Lotus when I arrive for the first time in February 2003.
Now I have been informed that it is only about a 20 minute taxi ride from CM2.
However Iam busting totry amassage and have just about decided on poseidon, well for today anyways, so bloody hard as there are some good stories on the forum, anyway I was wondering if it is easy to get to poseidons from there.
Also has anyone stayed there? I have read up on Soi 33 and it sounds like it could be worth a look.
Oh and yes the other question- I have a horror connection out of Bali and arrive at 3.00 am into Bangkok. Now I guess by the time I get out into the city I will have missed that nights entertainment?
If not,can someone offer any advice on what to do.

Are places pumping 7 days a week? Can you get FL any day at CM2, Rivas etc....?

You are 5 minutes walk from Soi Cowboy, Asoke Plaza (where you can find Lolitas).
If you get on the BTS, you get to many places such as Nana Plaza (Nana Station), Rivas (Asoke station), CM2 (Siam station), Patpong (Sala Daeng station).
To get to Ratchada, just avoid going there between 4-7 pm. That's peak traffic hours. Sundays okay. Once you are there you can try the various massage places. Poseidon is on the corner of Soi 17 as shown on the map. It may take between 30-45 minutes to get there depending on your luck, er, I mean the traffic.

ABC has stayed there and he recommends it.
At 3 am there's pretty much nothing much except Grace Hotel's Coffee Shop or Siam Hotel's Coffee Shop, but since this is your first time, leave out the latter for now. I would suggest get a good sleep and start early in the day. Remember you can always find a bar open at 10:30 am onwards.

griffin, hmmm... you seem to have opposing observation compared to ABCs. He has no problems with this place, and he bitched about Amari Boulevard (so did some others), and you said that place was okay.

personally never stayed there, but i am relying to some guys who were there before.
About novotel lotus this guy and also a lot of the soi 33 girls i know are heavily complaining about their policy!
well the amari boulevard might take a joiner fee, the guy i know was staying with his tg so i can not tell. but even with a joiner fee it is still a very decent hotel for being respectable and screwing at a very reasonable price!

i've stayed at Novotel Lotus more times than I would have liked. It is "ok" and no guest policy, at least in my experience. Good location, which is probably the best thing about it.
I found that the cheaper rooms are small and smell, and I think the pool isn't very good.. ie. no sun in the afternoon.
I also found that they are prone to scamming for higher rates. You can find great $49 rates posted, but you never get them "all sold out" you are told. Of course you go there and the hotel is completely empty and they give you the same room for $70. Just be careful with the price you pay. It isn't worth a lot as if you are going to pay $70 there are far better options...

If you are going to check out the massage joints try something on Ratchadapisek Road. I just stayed at Palazzo, no hassel ,good food, nice room, for 4500bt for three nights. Breakfast for two included. The down side is it all Asian guests in the area, no western hang outs. But the women are some of the best looking in Asia.
