Stayed at both these places last month. Warmly recommend Windsor Suites --good value, friendly staff only problem a little remote though fine for Soi Cowboy and Asoke skytrain station Do not recommed Amari Blvd. Booked via Net (as with Majestic). More expensive than Majestic and superior room turned out to be dingy room in old building at back. Upgrade cost $22. Surly staff, too. If you need to be near NEP try an alternative.

pantagruel: I was wondering why you said MS was remote. I just stayed there for 10 days in Nov/Dec and it's right around the corner of NEP. BTW: I think Majestic Suites is a very good place for newbies who is not familiar with getting around BKK. It's close to NEP and Nana BTS station. Reasonable rates, friendly staff and clean rooms.

Per request, I am going to expand my comments on Majestic Suites for sandiegon. I paid 1500 baht for a double, with breakfast included, which was served from 6:30 am to 10:30 am. The breakfast was pretty generic, eggs, ham, juice, toast and a piece of potato. There are other things available for breakfast too, but choices are limited. The room I had was on the small side; the king size bed filled up most of the room, but I did not really need more space. The furniture and decorations are fairly new. The wooden closet doors are inserted with mirrors and there's a safe inside one of the two closets. The closet without the safe is large enough to put my full size suitcase inside. I had a corner room on the back side of the building on the top floor and it was surprisingly quiet. I could see NEP from my window. The room look and felt clean. I think it helps because the floor is not carpeted. Both the bedroom and the bathroom have marble floors. The bathroom was roomy and I did not feel cramped. Fairly new fixtures in the bathroom too. The hotel is small with only 8 rooms per floor, I think from 3rd floor to 8th. The staff was very friendly and the maid addressed me by my name on the 2nd day and left me extra towels everyday. I tipped her 300 bahts over the course of 10 days. I did not have any problems bringing guests back, but they do have to leave their ID cards with the guard. The lobby is really small and there is no way to sneak anyone in without passing the guard and the front desk. I will have no problem staying there again next time.

Sup' pantagruel: Thanks for the update. Unfortunately it seems like the Amari hotel chain has surplanted themselves as a guest-unfriendly hotel chain. They constantly make the either guest-unfriendly list, or staff-unfriendly list, or the room sucks list. I stayed at the Atrium and they suck. Room, management staff, and guest friendlwise. ** Any newbie reading the hotel issues forum's. The Amari hotel chain in one that should be avoided if possible. **

Thanks mm3, I guess is going to be big change for me from Landmark to Majestic Suites but I am sure I will adjust that. I didn't find landmark rooms to be very big but had enough room to fill 3 or 4 girls at the same time

sandiegon: I don't know if the rooms at Majestic Suites is big enough to have 3 or 4 girls, but definitely 2. BTW: I like the food at the Landmark. Had more than a couple of meals there.
