Last time in BKK my taxi pulled into this hotel on Rama rd. I usually try to book online, but I cannot find this hotel anywhere online, can anyone help me?, telling me the rates, as well as the overall feel of this hotel. 'cus it sure looks great on the outside.

If you guys are refering to the SIAM INTERCONTINENTAL Hotel at Siam Square don't bother to look after it anymore....This hotel was totally demolished within few weeks in order to leave a BIG GAP for the forthcoming SIAM PARAGON shopping mall.......sorry guys but THAI OBAYASHI constructors put the hands on it....

Closed on 30 June. When I last looked on 28 Nov there was little left. Great shame to lose those gardens. Is there anywhere to replace it?

Damn shame. It was a fine hotel, first class all the way. I've stayed at many Intercontinental hotels, and Siam and Phnom Penh had the absolutly best service. OTOH, the rooms at Siam were a lot more run down than I usually expect at an Interconti, so maybe it was just that property's time to die.

I think they had to bow cos of the huge interest developed towads the construction of that so called SIAM PARAGON shopping mall.
SP is a nice project indeed....and the SIAM INTERCONTINENTAL was placed in the "wrong" place and had to face its destiny, what a pitty. Just a thought, just a thought.
Certainly, the hotel was giving a very nice view while waiting for the train at Siam BTS Station....as a frequent BTS user you feel that something is missing the times you see the huge gap in there....I got a sort of footage for my own use called "before and after"....

I had stayed here last month and I would never pay that for a room for one night, but it was free from mileage. When I looked cheapest I saw was 4900 THB.
I couldn't believe the size of the lobby. It was enormous. No trouble with bringing a girl back. The bathroom was as large as a bedroom. Very big room and that was just the normal room.
