I have commented on thsi hotel before, I stayed there based on the location and overall value for money ( gym, pool, etc.) I booked a doubble room and got a funny look from the receptionist when I checked in allone. However, ti was accepted. Any lady I borought in was checked by an uniformed employee by the lift. No checking of name, only that I had doubble room.
Overall good deal.

Just to add that I booked double and had no trouble, 7 days three different girls, the man at the elevator just checked my room no against a list to see it was a double room booking the first time then just smiled...
I think Amari Boulevard has had a bad press from some members but my opinion is that it was not very different to landmark except half the price.

I too had no problems at all - in fact the hotel was great in every aspect including the full breakfast buffet. They may have questioned me the first time I brought a guest but I informed them that I had booked a double and they confirmed. Very clean nice room, good pool great location. I'm interested in tring the Westin Grand on my next trip but I will not pay much more since I know AB is great.

This hotel was of great interest to me as I spent all my time of trip two on the odd Sois...
Going back and forth from Soi 7 for food and the beer garden and Soi 5 for Food Land and Gulliver's I kept passing the Amari and thinking what a good location it is.
Being a non-drinker, I'm not much for staying out all night. So I actually do use my room quite a bit. It may be that paying a bit more for a place like Amari would be nice as Manhattan was pretty basic room wise.
Sadly, doesn't sound like they have a consistent "guest" policy!

I was not aware of the "guest policy". They charged me 800 baht when I took a girl there. I've been to Bangkok dozens of times and this was the first time I've ever had to pay extra to bring a lady friend. I will not be staying at the Amari ever again.

Have stayed at the Amari Blvd a dozen or so times in the last 3 years.
I allways book a double
I never pay a guest fee
Usually I walk straigt in with my girls
If bringing a bunch (3-6) I have them ck thier id cards
Great Place
I prefer it over JW marriot due to location
just my 2 pesos

I've stayed at the Marriott many times. I've never had any problem there. I did get hassled at the Amari though.

I love the Amari Boulevard. They have done great imrpovements in temrs of friendliness. No problems neither to bring a girl. Depending on how you are booked there is a 25 USD fee, but I have no problem with that. Rooms are very clean. Brkeafast is one of the best ones I ever had. Staff seem all happy to work there, if I look at the smiles all over I had (or did I have something funny in my hair???), By the way, drinks in the bar are double size then in a regular bar. Then they are basivcally cheaper than elsewhere.... Glass of wine is also generously poured. I think they do a great job there.... And the other great Job was done by the gall I brought, he, he....
