Mr Pink
Hey guys,
I'm planning my first trip to LOS, and I need a little help from the "enlightened" ones from this board...

What is the meaning of a girl-friendly hotel?  Is it determined by the extra fees, hassle by hotel employees, or all of the above?

Also, does being a farang have an affect on hotels' guest policies?

Thanks in advance!

Mr Pink:

Guest-friendly means if you have booked a double room, the hotel will not charge you extra if you bring a guest or guests back to your room.  Most places will require your guest to leave her ID with the security guard in the lobby, especially if it's late at night.

I heard that a few hotels would actually call your room to make sure everything is alright before the guard would give the ID back to the girl when she leaves.  I guess this is to make sure that you are alive and well and the BG did not rob you and left you tied up or dead in your room.

Hey brother Mr. P welcome to the brotherhood. What guest friendly means is that the hotel will allow guests ( Or in other words, Thai ladies ) to visit you in your room. Some hotels will not allow you to take a lady to your room, mainly because they are geared more toward families and it doesn't take a genius to figure out the reason why a lady might be there to visit you.

With some guest friendly hotels if you book a single room and you want to take a lady to your room they will probably charge you a joiner fee of up to 1000 baht ( or more ) and this is everytime. Some hotels like Nana don't charge a joiner fee but they will require that the lady leave her ID with security just as brother MM3 has said. The best way around the joiner fee is to book a room as a double ( Pay for 2 people to be in the room ). This usually works but you could still have problems if they start to notice that your roommate keeps changing on a daily ( Or even hourly ) basis . Check the topics section at the bottom of the main page of this forum under hotels for updates on guest friendly hotels. Peace

Mr Pink

There is more than enough info. in the threads.
I suppose by now you have figured that Sukhumvit near a BTS station is as good as anywhere.
It just depends on your budget on which hotel to choose.

If you plan to bring girls for the night, book double. If your stay includes breakfast this will also include your guest. If you have more than one then you will have to pay for the extra breakfast.
Girls really appreciate a good breakfast, especially in a 5 star hotel.
