I believe the Novotel is guest friendly but i only want to now in which way they are guest friendly.
Is it the same like ( for example ) the nana hotel or do they ask for a joiner fee and ID check.
And are there maybe more things to now about the hotel like things to do or don't and off-course the best price for a room.

Merjin,

From what I have heard the Novotel Lotus on Soi 33 is guest and girl friendly, but I have never stayed there myself. As for the ID, it is very likely that the ID will be checked and needs to be deposed overnight - FYI it is the same at Nana Hotel as for example. Here is a link with some rates and additional info about the hotel.

Merijn,

The hotel is guest friendly.   When you book the room, make sure you put down "double".    They charge the same rate for "single" and "double".

When you bring a lady back to the hotel, the security guard will check her ID, and that's it.

It's a very nice place to stay.

Make sure you book a double!  I didn't and they charged me a 600Baht joiner fee.  In my book any hotel that requires you to book as a double to avoid a joiner fee is not guest friendly.

Kris
merijn,

Stayed at the Novotel Lotus from December 31 to Jan 9 and here's the latest feedback.

Yes, the hotel is guest friendly. As MIT has posted, book a double (it costs the same and includes breakfast for both) and you will have no problem. If you bring a girl in at late night, she will have to deposit her ID with security.

I had booked the first three nights with the hotel directly through their own website and it worked out to US$80 including vat and service charges. The remaining days I booked through Planet Holiday at a rate of US$48. Continued in the same room. A friend landed up on the 8th but the $48 rooms were sold out and managed to get a room at $58 for him through Planet Holiday. It was the same size as mine but with a small 50 sq ft room attatched with a desk and internet connection.

TopDog,

By your definition, most good hotels will be off the guest friendly list. A lot of brothers, veterans of the BKK scene, have posted in various thread the need to book a double to avoid joiners fees.

Kris

PS: I found dealing with Planet Holiday a very satisfying experience. BTW, they also have a live chat feature on their homepage where you can discuss the matter with their rep in a live chat. When in BKK, it is best to call them on their BKK phone numbers.

One more small quetsion, is it also guest friendly if you take two girls at the same time with you to the room.

Futher thanks for the great info, it is for me for the first time that I stay at Soi 33 and hopefully it is a good place but Cowboy is also close by so no problems.

merijn,

There should be no problem taking two girls during the daytime (I am only guessing). I am not sure if they will charge you extra at night when security is on alert. Sorry I can't help you there.

Kris
