it is girl freindly but the royal asia lodge further down the soi seems to be the better option, as cheaper and rooms are nicer!

Thanks Griff -have done the Royal Asia several times before and want to try somewhere else but I agree RA is OK place and certainly very girl friendly

why not try mikes place on soi 3 or the pb hotel (intersection between soi 3 and 11) for longterm resident as both offer rooms just below thb 1,000 for a longer stay!

Just leaving Stable Lodge today. It's pretty good. I booked a superior room - got one on 5th floor (501). Price around 1200 plus VAT. Good size room, very clean - nice wooden floor makes a change from dirty carpets with cigarette burns!, good aircon (though it's been so cool at night I haven't needed it. Bed is large and confortable. Bathroom just has shower - no bath tub - but it's effective. Room has large balcony with table and chairs. Pool looks OK but didn't use it.
Access is convenient - just a few minutes from the Nana BTS station.
Restaurant seems OK - just had breakfast there a couple of times.
Girl friendly - they hold ID cards at reception but this seems a bit erratic depending on when you arrive back.
Yes, it's a bit more expensive than other hotels in the area but it's a nice place. Pretty busy at present with lots of tourists from Europe.

Are the rooms secure ie good locks on the door?
Do they allow late night swimming with your t.g ?

Locks seem OK to me but not self-locking - you have to press the button in on the handle on the inside of the door. Safety boxes at reception.
Late night swims out I think, they put tables for dinner around the pool at about 6.30-7.00pm.
