I just tried to book the Manhattan for later this month but unfortunately it's fully booked. I haven't stayed anywhere else in Bangkok.
I'm looking for a hotel in Sukumvit around the 1000 Bt range.
From previous notes I've taken from this forum we've got the Ambassador, City lodge, Park Inn, Promenade, Royal Asia Lodge.
All appear to be guest friendly. Any recent favourable experiences from any of these hotels??

Check out the Majestic suites or Parkway hotel. less then 25 meters from Landmark . Both hotels are good value for the money. I'm booked into the Majestic 26 Feb thru 1 March. Ý Ý9 days

I would recommend Majestic Suites, Dynasty Inn and Nana Hotel, in this order. All of these hotels are girlfriendly and close to NEP. Enjoy your stay!

Has anyone stayed in Stable Lodge Hotel in Soi 11. Checked out their website at http://www.stablelodge.com and it looked alright although its hard to be really sure. Prices seemed less than 1,000B.

Try the Park Hotel in Soi 7, just across the road from the beer garden.
If you book through Thaifocus on the web, double rooms with breakfast for 2 are 1150 Baht per night. Make sure to book "Double Rooms on Level 2 if you can -they are renovated and better)
FEE:
No fee for the girl ever, only maybe if you bring back two, but you can always slip the nightman/doorman 200 baht and he will let you through - no extra over fee.
Alternatively book a tripple room for 1440Baht (pay up front)
Never been hasselled there, great staff, clean and tidy and great location

Thanks for the replies chaps.
All hotels suggested look good and I particularly like the look of the Park Hotel on Soi 7. Prefer to be away slightly from the hustle and bustle.
Best rate I've found so far is on the Bangkokian site, 1070 Baht for double includes breakfast.
Looks like the Ambassador has fallen out of favour with other forum members.

Yes, the Ambassador seems to be favored less by the bros nowadays as it is going down in quality as far as the rooms are concerned. Jusr getting older without any refurbishing in sight.

There's also the Nana Condo at around 700 baht a day (no breakfast) and the Woraburi Inn also at around 700 baht a day (with breakfast).

I stayed at the Park Hotel in late February as per brother Craigoz's suggestion.
IMHO the hotel is overpriced for the room quality, but the big bonus is the location i.e. straight across the road from the Beer Garden on Soi 7.
The hotel rooms were too dark for my liking with very little natural light. But for location 10 out of 10.
Beer garden was a perfect place to drink and the girls very eager for a quick ST because only a 15 second walk to hotel.
I took one cutie for 500B ST. However another cutie the following night wanted 1500B for one hour ST. f_ck that I thought, would rather spend that money for 1.5 hour session at MP.
