Hi, I'd appreciate any feedback on the guest friendliness of the Landmark Hotel. Yes, it's pricey ($100 a night for a suite) but Korean Air Skypass members get 59% off that price. Seems to include some other nice perks, too. Maybe for $40 a night (or less) I could do better elsewhere? Just want someplace nice that will allow my gf and me to bring "friends" over to visit.

I have never stayed at the Landmark but from what I've heard, no problem with bring a girl in. I've eaten there and the food is good. Your right in the middle of the action. Excellent hotel and good price. 13 days

Hi there. I stayed at the Landmark for four nights in August of 2001. I've been back to Bangkok and Thailand 3 times since and I will NEVER stay at the Landmark again. A true newbie rip-off mansion. If money is no object and pubic hair (well it was short black curly and not mine) in the open jug of "drinking" water and insects crawling over the breakfast buffet (they brushed them off and brought the food back when someone complained) and 100 baht per call to access your international telephonce calling card (10 baht max at any other hotel)well if none of this is a problem then go for it. Its listed as guest friendly elsewhere - I didn't try after I saw a guy kept at the front desk for about 20 minutes obviously trying to take a bargirl up to his room - I assumed they were after a joiner fee. In short, I can't say enough bad things about it. On the plus side, the individual staff members were nice and the "Nipa Thai" restaurant is excellent. Still if I was offered a free night there - I'd pay to stay elsewhere. (Hmnnn...I still have issues don't I?)

Talk about two completely different perspectives. Wow! Minder, I'll try to read between the lines... my guess is that you're not too pleased with the Landmark, right? HAH! Thanks to the both of you for your insights. Maybe I'll just go back to the Hilton or Conrad. Pricey! But I'm desparate for flyer miles...

I stayed at landmark last year and I had a very good experience with this hotel. Rooms were big, comfortable and bathroom was big enough to put three or four tgs. Never ate it there so I am not sure about the food quality. But location is awsome and over all impression was good. If you getting a room for about 40 dollars than I think its a awsome deal

PonyBoy: I have also stayed at the Landmark hotel countless times. Never had a bad experience there and infact, for the price, they are better then most of the other hotels in it's class. Guest friendly and if you stay on the club floor, the breakfast is good!! Rooms are clean and comfortable. Very close to the action since NaNa Plaza is right next door and the skytrain is a hop.. skip .. and a jump away. If you work out, they've got a great gym. Hi BIG D, You can get both information about the SkyPass and enroll online at: http://www.koreanair.com You'll find information about the partner hotels and the discounts offered at the site, too. After reading the comments about the hotel, it really is too bad about the experience Minder had in 2001. I hope his was an anomaly. The other posts have given me the courage to try it. I especially liked the info about the large bath! Yeah, baby! Yeah! BTW, I have read in other posts that the food at the Landmark is quite good.

Does anyone know which rate at the Landmark that the 59% Korean Air discount would apply to. On Landmark's website, they have a "rack rate" and they have a deeply discounted rate for booking on the internet of approx 100.00 USD. Having booked many meetings at hotels and staying at many hotels during my working years, I found that most discounts are applied to the much higher "rack rates". I sent an E Mail to Landmark asking this question but if it is like last June when I inquired about rates and reservations at the Landmark, they will never reply.

Hi expat, Don't know what to say about the Landmark not replying. Here's the link to Korean Air's website that provides the discount info. Maybe it's out of date? http://www.koreanair.com/local/na/eng/gd/sp/pc/sp_htlseasia.htm I received a quote via email of 3100 Baht per night because of my university employee status. That's still not a 59% discount, though. I'll keep you posted regarding rate info.
