Hey bros....I'm again here to ask for a tip, as I am planning my secret honeymoon.
I'll stay couple of days in Bkk and couple of days in HuaHin, as suggested by you.
In Bkk I usually stay at Landmark Hotel, but this time I'd love to find another location, which should always be a nice and clean hotel, but possibly more romantic than Landmark, with nice and discrete rooms and rate abt 70-80USD will be ok. Of course not necessary to be close to action, but having no cars, it would be better to me if this 'perfect' location could be not so far from the skytrain.
Guys, please....where, in which hotel, would you love to bring and live with your 'magic' lady?....am I asking for too much?... :-P
I know...I'll owe you some beers... ;-)

Well the Novotel Siam Square is certainly nice and clean and well within your budget and IMO in a perfect central location, 5 mins walk from MBK & 2 mins walk to skytain... but am not so sure about the "romantic" bit???? It's nice enough, don't get me wrong.... but not exactly my idea of a quaint romantic hideaway.
Possibly the suites/deluxe rooms would be more romantic than the standard rooms??
I paid 2500 baht per night for a standard room ... end Feb beginning of March.
I should add... I am quite sure this hotel is NOT in the least guest friendly. (don't know if that's an issue for you or not, but I noticed the staff were quite rude to a guy trying to check in with his Thai girlfriend, and he had booked a double room!)

If you really want to dazzle her,go to The Conrad web site and you can book a room for $87 ++ per night. A bit more than what you targeted but a 5 star property at a very reasonable rate.

The Sofitel on Silom road was pretty nice for $80. Nicely furnished, hardwood floors, very comfortable bed. Large marble bathroom with bathtub and separate walk-in shower. Excellent breakfast buffet, nice wine bar on 35th floor. Close to Silom shopping. Lousy pool.
The best place I stayed at was Royal Meridian, but quite expensive at $120. Across from SkyTrain, near WTC for shopping. Great pool on the roof.

bububear, whenever I am in BKK, the only place that I stay is the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. I know that you are going to be on you honeymoon, but just in case, Cowboy is minutes away.
The price is usually around US120 per night, but well worth the stay, the pool is beautiful, guest friendly, and the room are big.
I hope you have a great honeymoon. Tough city to bring your wife though.

I would go for sofitel or pathwaan princess. Pathwaan princess is actually located inside the MBK mall incase you want a take your honey for shopping.. No need to get out in scroching heat when you can just get into mall from your hotel. Try to get one of their suite. Very nice view and romantic..

:-D ...well...may be you have missed on word I've typed before 'honeymoon'....hehehhehe.... in fact this is a 'secret' honeymoon!... it is and must remain 'secret' just becasue my wife is not involved... and this honeymoon is with a lovely thai cute. Got it?
So, I suppose that during this short trip in Bkk, for the first time I'll not need any 'extra'.... at least I guess...ehehehe (never say never!)

All yr suggestions (and I thank you for that) are mainly for huge & nice hotels. Do you have any additional experiences with small, discrete and romantic hotels?
