I've booked the Bangkok Hilton on Wireless Road after finding a good deal on the web. Anyone have experience staying there? Are they guest friendly, or should I cancel out and pick something else?

There's a very interesting shrine in the far southwest corner of the grounds...
It's a VERY nice hotel, and well kept. Although I don't know for certain, I would bet that they would discourage obvious BGs. Also, it's NOT a very convenient location for a ST. If higher end LT is your preference, you may have a better chance. You can always ask, BTW. Just call them...
A lot depends on what you will be doing most of the time. Staying in a nice non-BG-friendly hotel, and using another location for fun, can be a good method, depending on your budget.
All the hotels are hurting now, so a low price on the Hilton is not a surprise, but it is definitely NOT known as a punter hotel...
Check out the shrine...have fun.

I've just walked onto the grounds whenever the mood struck me, including a couple of times with a TG in tow. Hadn't heard about any problems; your info is probably more up-to-date.
I generally try to look presentable, though...
Surprisingly few Thais know about it; kind of fun to take your Thai friends to visit.

OK a little off topic but i had to smile when i saw the question.
Bangkok Hilton is another name for the infamous prison and the thought of the 'guests' bringng in girls made me smile.

I believe you're thinking of the Hanoi Hilton Nokna, not exactly a 5 star hotel. I'm only looking for a short time stay, of course. I tried Royal Meridian for a few days last time, very comfortable but not worth twice the price of a 4 star hotel IMHO. However, I wouldn't mind trying the Hilton for 2900 baht, but not if I can't have company.

Like Nokna, I always thought "Bangkok Hilton" was the nic-name for the prison in Nonthaburi.
Anywayyyyyy, regarding the REAL Bangkok Hilton... when I stayed there I do recall one guy with his bg-gf staying there as well, I'd see them most afternoons by the pool. However, possibly when he booked he registered her as well. (i.e. not a one-nighter)
I got the impression that it wasn't as girl-UNfriendly as the Novotel on Siam Square. (which bordered on the totally rude to western guys with thai women)
The shrine at the Hilton is definitely worth checking out (makes for real conversation starting photos, lol), and the gardens are pool area are nice and relaxing!
