Gentlemen,
I've been lurking in the shadows for some time and I have to say that it's been quite an education. Gratitude extended to the brothers for some enlightening posts and exchange of information. Just one question.
To anyone who's stayed at the JW Marriot recently, what's the deal when you bring back a friend - do they need to leave their ID in the hotel reception or is that not necessary?

Absolutely not necessary for TG to leave ID at desk, but you can arrange as you wish. This hotel assumes that adults can have an overnight guest if one wishes.
Mind you I always book a double room and advise that my TGF will be arriving later.

Correct... I put a good-sized group of horndogs there recently, and the hotel is both accomodating and discrete about guests. They probably decided they had no choice given their proximity to Nana. As long as you are not drunk and disorderly, you can come/go with a lady and no questions are asked.

JW Marriott has to be by far, the most girl-friendly 5-Star hotel in BKK. You don't even have to walk by the reception area, there are multiple ways to get in and its almost unbelievable how lax security is when coming in with a girl, almost as if they encourage it (everyone smiles, wishes you a good evening, says hello to the girl, etc). Their staff all speak english and are very courteous.
My last trip, I (on a drunken stupor) was playing around with my girl outside (late night), we were running around and I flat ran into a huge ceramic pot, slammed my knee into it, and broke it. There were lots of security guards around and I had to speak to the duty manager, she was more concerned for my safety and insisted I go to the hospital to get checked out. The next morning (some 6hrs later), I got a message from her asking me if I still needed to go to the hospital (hotel would pay) and not to worry about the pot (no charges). When I walked outside, the pot had already been replaced by another!
That place is top-notch and I would gladly stay there again!!!!

Hey Tyler, can you come by my office near O'Hare? We have a huge pot that has a small crack in it. I'd love for you to stumble into it while in a drunken stupor and talking on the phone using me as an alibi. That way, the insurance company would replace it

Quite happy as I just got the JW Marriott for £48 using Priceline for Jan 9th for 4 days.
Don't know if thats good or bad but I think its a good deal for a 5 * hotel.
So anyone else looking for that sort of time that is the sort of bid to make.
Don't know what to expect - may get the broom cupboard but priceline say contact the hotel with any specific requests so does anyone recommend anything to suggest. I am staying with my TG.

If you are staying with your TG, you won't need a Goblin Teasmade in your room
Rooms are OK, great bathrooms,£48 Priceline, was that the gross amount or net amount before tax?

The security is a bit of a pain at The Marriott, you have to pass through metal detectors, if terrorists decide to hit an American owned hotel then this would make a good target, a good alternative would be the Majestic Grande just across the road, current promotional rate is 2900 baht, totally girl friendly.

JW is not what it used to be. Lendmark is a better deal, and I would take Landmark over Majestic Grand for 1K bhat/day more.
