Not to be a cheapskate, but does anyone know about the lowest price hotels? Are any clean, safe, allow guests, etc. I don't usually do more than sleep and shower in a hotel, although I might do more in the room in BK. I should arrive during the first week in September and would like to book room on the net. Any advice?

- nothing wrong with the majority of cheaper hotels, but the key is of course location, strongly suggest you stay in the region between Sukhumvit road, soi's [ side streets] 1 to 21, - think plenty of Hotel reviews on the site, ! small place worth a look maybe "Premier" on the corner of soi 8, about 650 baht per night, $US 15, clean, safe, friendly staff, no hassles with girls, and has TV with english channels, bath, Hot water, Air-con - alot of places in a similar vein, as long as you arrive during the day, take a taxi, or the airport bus, into the area, best to say to the "Amnassador" - as its right in the middle of this region, and all cabbies know it, and then from there, just walk around and ask at different places.

The Nana Inn (soi 3 ) is worth a look , 850 baht for a Big room ,comfortable with fridge ,TV , En suite ect , Guest friendly and clean.

I like the Manhattan.. about 24 usd and they have an awesome breakfast buffet. Also guest friendly and close to the Therme.I;m going back in Sept for more fun and realaxation ,,lol,,

Try the Federal. Clean, pool, a/c near everything (about 50 yards from Ambassador). Rate about $22-24 per day. Nice restraunt also. Guest friendly. email federalhotel@hotmail.com tele 02-253-0175

You can try the Grace Hotel on soi 3. The rooms run between 600 - 1050 per night. They are newly rennovated, so they are nice. Also the coffee shop is downstairs and a lot of the freelancer action takes place after 2am.

Hmmm based only on ST experience I can recommend ASOKE PLACE very close to Soi Cowboy. B/.350/3hours. Clean and nice with friendly service. Another choice, my favorite, is PLAYBOY Hotel (PB Hotel) few yards away from Nana Soi 3 just passing the Grace Hotel. Also B/.350/3 hours and B/.700/LT. Ah! I am talking about the hotel facilities through the lobby, not about the DRIVE-IN hotel right next to this one, which is a dump.
