Hi!
I am travelling to Thailand for the second time and the first time I tried to bring a Thai girl to my room but she was not allowed to come in according to the porter.
Whazzup wid that?Any possible answers?

At most hotels, if you pay for a double you won't have any hassles.

-By and large ALL Thai hotels will allow girls in, some just make it more difficult than others, whilst some use it as an excuse to get an extra few $ out of you - as the mentioned, anywhere in Thailand, if you book a double room, and say "my wife will come later" - then they can do nothing about it - and of course if you change your "wife" daily, thats your business ! - check BKs list of friendly/non friendly hotels, as it certainly does make things more comfortable for all concerned if you dont get hassled.

Question:did the porter say that SHE was not allowed to come in OR did he say that bringing girls into rooms was not allowed ?
There is a possibility that your girl was known as troublemaker: stealing , causing fights...and "blacklisted"
for that.
I do not say it is that way, but might be.

Last night brought the girl to my room at Grand Hyatt. The security guy just asked her for ID but she did not have any. I said that it was ok with me and got no problems at all.

I stayed at the J W Marriott on Sukhumvit. I brought in numerous girls. No problems at all. When you have a group of girls they tend to talk and make a lot of noise. I asked them to be quiet and enter discreetly.
Problem is the other hotel patrons see you and know you are up to something. I just ignored them and kept walking to the elevator.

- agreed, generally should be no problems, occasionally you get a porter looking for an extra "donation" - or as J.R. mentioned, some well known trouble makers, in popular hotels such as the Grace, have been banned - e.g. a Miss "Fon" who must rank as one of Sukhumvits hardest workers, biggest drug takers, and allegedly worst performers in bed !

I have stayed at 10 or 12 different hotels, always booked a double, and never had any big problem. They always check the lady's ID.
