one of my clients had just the opposite experience there. he had problems taking grils with him. but may be he made much fuzz or the girls dress wasn't appropriate. for a five star hotel would rather recommend The Sukhothai or the J.W. Marriott.

I stayed in Bangkok twice booked by my office travel agent. Most of the time, unless you specifically advise, it is single occupancy status. So, when you bring a girl in the room, hotel stuff may ask you to pay for extra bucks, regardless it is guest friendly or not. I think you should check this first . In general, all hotels allow guest provided you pay the fees.

they never charge you extra at the regent. they may stop you but only to check the girls id for your own safety
