Any recommandation? Girl friendliness is not important for me because I'll just stay with my girl friend. I just want cheap, clean, and good place near entertainment area. ( dance clue (Route 66?) or shopping mall, not talking about the place to find girls ) Near = within 20 min taxi.

P.S. Is it safe to leave my laptop computer in a hotel room? If not, where should I place it?

Thank you CMORE. That said my favorites are
1)Nana Hotel-980 Baht.
2)Dynasty Hotel- just across the street-900baht.
3)Raumchitt Plaza- a short elevator ride from the infamous Thermae Cafe, in the basement. 900Baht.
4)Ambassador- register double occupancy no hassle, though lots of security. Dont kick over the carlsburg on the console/control panel though. 1300 baht.

Hey Duke, I've never stayed at #4 or #2 ( And from what I hear it can cost you some serious sanuk points if the lady finds out you're staying at Dynasty ), but I have stayed at Nana and Ruamchitt. Never again.
I spent a good deal of my stay at Nana conducting war games with the roaches ( Tricky little buggers  ) and it took me 3 months to recover from whatever bacteria was being blown around my room everytime I turned on the AC at Ruamchitt. I did stay at Raj Jah also. I repeat, never again.
I did enjoy staying at Nana Inn on Soi 3 across from Grace. 850 baht a night, very clean and the daytime receptionist is a major hottie. They also have the best guest policy in LOS. Maximum number of people allowed to stay with you in your room ( Beside you ) is 2. Anymore then that and they will have to charge you 100 baht extra per person ( This was actually written on the hotel rules taped on my room door  ).
Only problem I had with the room was that each room only had a 13" TV, but hey, can't win um all. Peace

I remember you telling that story, and last month I stayed at all three, and maybe I just dig the slumming aspect, actually liked them better than the Ambassador, mainly due to the proximity to the action.
When I lived on the subtropical island in the East China Sea, the cockroache flew. Now that was narly.
