Hi All,
This is my first posting since Ive been wondering around this board for a few weeks now. I think there's a lot of helpfull info, so thank you all for that. At this moment I'm planning a trip to Thailand for 5 weeks. It's my second time so I know what to expect  May be I dont make use of the search engine the right way but I got still one question for you guys. Are there any recomandations for online hotel bookings. Which site are relyable, cheap etc. All the info is welcome so I go on with planning my trip, can't wait cheers

Go to http://www.google.com and search using the name of any BKK hotel and "bangkok" in the search field. You will get a list of travel agencies that can use to book on-line. The vast majority of these agencies are reliable.
I also try to find the website of the hotel itself without going through the travel angecy to compare rates. Sometimes the hotel website also has more info about the hotel. With most of hotels you can book a reservation directly, however it is usually necessary to fax your credit card number because not all the websites are secure. Always check to ensure that the web page starts with https when entering in a credit card number, otherwise fax it to them.

I use Siam online for all my bookings.
Remember you can ask for a better deal than they advertise on the net. All my bookings are below the
online offer. For a bit more expencive hotels you can offer them 2-400 below their online price.

It's no wonder that siam-online accepts less than their posted rate. As a test, I checked the posted rates for The Emerald Hotel on siam-online and the superior room was 1560 baht. On http://www.asiatravel.com it was 1400 baht.

Surf the net and find the best offer and then you ask Siam Online to give an even better offer. That is what I did. Made one booking for Bangkok one for Koh Samui and one for Pattaya. Showed them the best online offer and asked them to match it wich they did every time.
I like to stick to one company insted of sending the credit card info to many different companys. They communicate very fast if you have any requests.
