I will be looking for a two bedroom apartment for 15K in BKK. I don't want a rat hole as I will have my daughter with me. Looking for a/c, cable decent distance into the center of town. Any suggustions?

BigD - Why in BKK? I thought you were going to study/teach in Pattaya...
Should be PLENTY of 2 BR apts, depending on where you want to live. Closer to the BTS, more expensive, but the area around Victory Monument, and also Phayathai has a LOT of decent apartments for cheap. Be sure to get a Thai to help you find one, and negotiate the price...

I know my way around Pattaya have friends there. The cost of living is cheaper and I can get a s/t for 500 or l/t 1000... Thanks for the "heads up" on apartments.

friend of mine just got a place on soi 6, one bedroom, big terrace, 15 K, Saranjai Mansion.
it's a big complex and for sure there are more apartments available, just check with the managment office.

soi Rangnam is good, but most 2 bedrooms VP court etc, are closer to the 20K mark, as the screw you for extras, plus they want 3 months in advance ! best for value in the 2 bedroom I have seen, was off the end [Onut] station, big apartment block with large pool, just past the tesco/lotus store - forgert the name off hand, but the largest building around you can see clearly from the Skytrain station, about 500 yards down from the main sukhumvit road. 12,000bt for 2 bedrooms + have kitchen/Gas which comes in handy -
